Hi, i'm doing a BTEC National Extended Diploma at college and have just finished my final year however a teacher has lost some work which I submitted on time and is now refusing to give me my proper mark.

I will not be able to go to the university I want to because of the reduced mark and I wanted to know if there was anything I could do to sort it out.

Tell the head teacher, get your parents involved, if they don't realise how serious this is and the impact it will have on your life, then imo the teacher should be sacked. Disgusting, how can they loose work?!

No, we hand in the work and they keep it unless theres any corrections, I don't know of any way to prove I gave it in and got a mark.

The college is the worst i've ever been too, the teaching is poor, there is no communication between the teachers and the organisation and filing of work is absolutely horrible. The college is closing down after this year is finished so perhaps thats why they don't care anymore. I will try to get in contact with the Head teacher, thanks for the advice.

Are they claiming you never submitted it or admitting they lost it? I think if it's the first unless your head will do anything you're pretty much stuck. If it's that they're admitting they lost it but wont give you a mark then try the head, see what he/she suggests. If it sounds good then follow that if not then try contacting Edexcel or the uni you've applied to directly with some supporting evidence that your college is admitting to loosing the work.

I'm not sure what the best thing to do is here but you should probably talk to a few other teachers and see what advice they have to offer maybe even contacting your exam board and see what they say if all else fails get your parents to take action ASAP.

The situation has been resolved, thankfully, the work has turned up in another teacher's possesion so it should be fine from here on out. I don't know why they had it and I don't care as long as it doesn't affect my going to uni. Thanks for your help guys.
