Hey congrats on getting on the course. I have my interview on Monday! Any advice? With regards to the 'lesson' did you just give a presentation or did you get the pupils involved by asking questions etc?

Any advice would be most appreciated

The people doing the interview are really nice.

I'd looking at the QTS practice tests for the tests you've got to do and i did my lesson like a lesson.

I got the children involved and think it worked really well, you don't want them just sitting there listening other wise they may get bored. Remeber to wrap the lesson up and ask them what they have learnt.

Best of luck and i hope to see you in September.

Hey i had my interview on Tuesday 10th of July and found out Wednesday 11th July at around lunch time that i had been accepted so i wasnt waiting very long, but i know a few people that it had taken abit longer.

Yh i am worried about the QTS test as you now only get 2 chances to pass these but the test we did on the interview are very similar and at the same level so i want to know how i did on them first so i can revise the areas that i struggle on.

I am super excited although at the minute i am struggling to email my CV over to them.

I thought we started on the 10th September as that is when student finance have said the first payment is, but do you know if we have an induction day?

Also have you heard anything about the bursaries ?? and how this will be paid? i have so many questions

Where abouts do you live ?? is it close by or will you be commuting ??

    Many thanks for quick reply

    Jennie,

We get three attempts at the QTS, your first attempt and 2 resits. I don't think Literacy is too bad, but it’s the time limited maths questions that worry me, I can get the answers just not quick enough. Am going to be revising like crazy!!

I've not heard anything about and induction day but i think we are getting sent more info out at the beginning of August ish.

Bursaries are sorted by the Uni, although i can't get one as i got a 2.2 in my degree.

I live in Stockport so will be commuting every day, how about yourself?

    Hi,

yes the qts test are a little worrying but im sure the university support and help you throughout this and want you to pass the qts else it looks bad on them.

Im really looking forward to starting but worried about all the hard work lol
I should get a bursary as i got a 2:1 but i think this is sorted by the uni and government and thinks it is paid in monthly enstallments.

I live in nottinghamshire and so will be commuting to keele but my sister graduated from there a while ago and my mum lives close by.

    Are you excited to start??

Just to let you know, I've just completed my PGCE at Keele and they ran QTS skills/revision sessions from quite early on in the course. I didn't attend any myself, but I know that people who did found them to be useful.
Start revising and taking the online mock tests asap and you'll be fine.
