Re: First car insuranceIs that to pay off in full, or are you paying monthly? If it's inclusive of the monthly rate then top dog! If it's not you'll actually be looking at about £2800ish.(Original post by Nayberay)
Quote i've got as i'm soon to do my test and this is the car I will be getting is..
2005 1.6L VW Golf
£1.8K Fully Comp Insurance - Admiral.
Live in London too.
Admiral quoted me £1400 for my car, when I asked to pay monthly, it was £2300. -
Re: First car insuranceThey're named drivers so no.(Original post by TheGrinningSkull)
Isn't that fronting if you say their mileage is higher than yours?
Or have you done it so that they are less than yours?
They can do more miles than me even if i'm the main driver.
Example: I use my car for a little bit of city driving a few times a week. Probably end up doing 20 miles?
They sometimes go up to Liverpool every now and again. If they did that trip in my car then that's 600 miles there and back already. -
If I was to get insured on the same car , would the price be the same for me?(Original post by Village Whisper)
2004 Corsa 1.0, Admiral, £900~ (I was 18).
I've changed companies now one year later, and it's about £750.

Prob not depends where you live, if your parents are on the insurance, if you have off road parking and all the other things they ask you when you fill out the forms to get a quote but put it into confused.com or something and find out!(Original post by SAF1234)

Re: First car insuranceYeah like Knight9434 said, it would depend on a lot of things. I live in a small village and the car's parked on our driveway, but I assume it would cost a lot more if I lived in London and it was parked on the street (for example). I think it depends on the actual car as well, like whether or not it's been modified (mine has really dark-tinted back windows).(Original post by SAF1234)

So yeah, if your situation's comparable to mine then it might be similar, but you should have a look on those comparison websites

I live in London (east London ) and on the websites I put that the car will be in the garage at night.(Original post by Village Whisper)

But I still think I'm making mistakes because I get quotes for 20,000 pounds for very cheap cars. Like ford ka ..

Re: First car insurance55 reg 1.2 Corsa cost me around £1400 to insure with Egg when I was 19 2 years ago, 11 days after passing my test. No other drivers on the policy or anything.

Re: First car insurance
My first car:
1998 Renault Clio Grande 1.2 = £900 odd for the first year, £800 or so for the second.
My current car:
2001 Ford KA Style 1.3 = £648 this year.
All on Admiral. Diamond offered me this years price on my KA, but after talking to Admiral they matched the price as Diamond is their 'sister company.' -

Bold is fronting, it's not worth losing your licence over
Try different cars?
I don't really in visage a situation where anyone would ever lose their license or even get caught for fronting
