Agreed. The transfer windows have artificially increased transfer fees due to panic buying and deadlines.(Original post by IWantSomeMushu)
The only change I want is to scrap transfer windows.
Let clubs buy/sell players year round.

Agreed. I thought I was in a very rare minority but I've seen Premier League managers be against the transfer window - Curbishley and Pulis to name two. It would stop clubs from having to deliberately buy potential excess for trying to foresee the future in case of injuries and suspensions, while players will be moving to clubs and should be getting more game time rather than bench warming/rotting in the reserves. With "FFP" coming into force, I'm a little surprised that the merits of the transfer window have not been revisited. It could perhaps help clubs with less financial clout than those at the top too. -
Re: New transfer rules.Okay... So you assume all good youth players in future football are just going to pack their bags and move to this one "main academy"? Dream on.(Original post by facdroit)
No because youth academies would not exist under such a system. Players would be drafted from one ''main'' academy that the clubs contribute financially to.
Drafts could be made age 16 or 18.

Re: New transfer rules.I agree with you but imagine a system where instead of transfering you could trade players all year round with say a maximum of 1 trade per player per year.(Original post by Mess.)

Re: New transfer rules. That is already in place, a player can't play for more than two (maybe three) clubs in a calendar (maybe season) year.(Original post by Brainiac)
I agree with the year round transfer fee, however something would have to be done to ensure players werent sold and bought back for short periods, like selling rooney for one game and then buying him back... -
Re: New transfer rules. It really can't work.(Original post by facdroit)
It would be possible if we implement it right. It won't be easy but the potential benefits would be amazing.
In the USA - 99% of all players come through US colleges. Here, you are part of the club from as young as 5.
How do you implement a draft system that works for the whole of europe? The market to choose from is too vast.
Pretty sure a draft would be against some freedom of labour laws as well.Last edited by L18; 06-07-2012 at 09:30. -
Re: New transfer rules. That could actually mean a less competitive league. Salary caps would have be to be worldwide, enforced properly, and take into taxes of countries. Otherwise all the good players will go to Monaco because it's a tax haven.(Original post by facdroit)
Each team should have a salary cap based on league position
