Aber Uni - Special CircumstancesI filled out a Special Circumstances form before the exams due to medical conditions happening at the same time.
Can someone explain to me how Aber takes this into account?

Re: Aber Uni - Special CircumstancesThey don;t. My brother goes to Aber uni and filled one of these out. He was told, 'It is only a record of your Special Circumstances, but you don't get extra anything for it.' I.e. There won't be extra considerations when marking your work etc.
You should have gone to Aberdeen University. They have a better policy and supportive system in place. -

Re: Aber Uni - Special CircumstancesI had an emergency operation and missed an essay deadline. I submitted a Special Circumstances form as soon as I could, stating my situation. Even though I handed in my essay a fair bit late, I don't recall getting any penalties.
I don't think that's really a basis for choosing a different university. It's like choosing a university because they have a pretty faculty building....(Original post by Pink Liquid)

Re: Aber Uni - Special CircumstancesYou don't get told what considerations will be taken into place, as peoples circumstances vary. For example though, a resit would normally be capped at 40% but with a spec circs form this could result in a free resit, that is not capped at 40% (just as an example)
