Re: Does anybody play the mandolin?
I play the mandolin. For about 2 years now. Like you I had also play guitar. I picked up a Stagg mandolin, had to alter the action on it but it plays pretty well for the price I paid for it.
Check out www.mandolincafe.com -
I am tempted to get one :P Would a 'stagg' be alright?(Original post by Manitude)
I've been playing a bit for a few months, and I also play guitar
I got a Stagg from a friend who was made redundant for £40. I still can't get used to how thin the neck is though :/

Re: Does anybody play the mandolin?I don't think they're considered to be a top end make, but they do decent entry level instruments I think.(Original post by Mr Bee)

Re: Does anybody play the mandolin? It looks identical to mine, though I think mine is the next step up as it's worth about £80.(Original post by Mr Bee)

Re: Does anybody play the mandolin?Your choice entirely - I don't know enough about mandolins to know if it's worth getting a slightly more expensive one. Go for whatever you can afford I suppose!(Original post by Mr Bee)

Re: Does anybody play the mandolin? That's the mandolin I have. I'm pleased with it. Obviously it isn't a top end mando but for the price you can't expect that but I think it's a good beginner mando(Original post by Mr Bee)
