    Is dubstep dead?
I keep hearing it's dead. I do listen to dub, but ive never had a full blown phase. Is it dead and if so what will replace it or what will it evolve into?

    Opinions?

You mean dubstep like Loefah, Mala, J. Sparrow or dubstep like Skrillex?

    Honest question gets negged.

I really don't get the fuss about Dubstep to be honest.

    Am I missing something?

People were trying to get crazier and crazier sounds out of their synths which kinda made it stale for most people.

Dubstep's still about, and it's evolving. See: 'post-dubstep'.

I know genre labels are getting ridiculous but I think it's fair to say there is a movement of artists who's work has been influenced by the UK dubstep scene.

It's not dead, it has just changed. The dubstep purists will insist it is dead, but they have very strict definitions of what dubstep is, I disagree. I think brostep has made a massive impact on the whole scene, but it's not the only fusion genre and there is a lot more to explore, and there are still good artists out there. If you define dubstep as the sounds of early producers then yes, it hasppeaked and it is dying. If you define it more loosely, then it's getting huge.

I wonder what will be next. dubstep is weird as hell, love it or hate it you can't say it's not at least interesting.

brostep will hopefully die, which is the American side, Skrillex and all that

Dubstep won't die it will go back its roots and underground clubs like before, bit like UK G

It's been declared dead and 'resurrected' so many times. I still like it so I'll keep listening to it. I don't get people who say it's 'dead' because of Skrillex, he doesn't even make dubstep

Never really rated it, there's a few odd tunes I liked.

Sukh Knight and Benga the only guys who I really followed.

    Re: Is dubstep dead?
I think Dubstep that doesn't really try and be outrageously bass-y etc, will never die, because it's really just an extension of house and is definitely good raver-esque music. See stuff like Knife Party and Nero and even some SHM etc. Brostep (i.e, Skrillex) is pretty unsustainable and isn't (imo) fun to listen to in clubs.
