Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a sin!
So Christians are not supposed to have sex before marriage, as that's forbidden in their religion.
But I've met a lot of people who claim to be Christians who are having sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend, who they are not married to.
Where in the Bible does it say that having sex with your girlfriend or boyfriend is allowed? Look in the Bible. Nowhere does it say this is permitted.
So Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend are basically hypocrites and are committing a sin, according to their religion.
Any Christians here who have sex with their gf or bf? How do you justify it to yourself, when your religion blatantly says not to have sex before marriage? -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a
I'll be the first one to state; no one cares about it, neither them nor anyone else
Two reasons:Any Christians here who have sex with their gf or bf? How do you justify it to yourself, when your religion blatantly says not to have sex before marriage?
1) Most basic biological need
2) Finding a sexually compatible partnerLast edited by S-man10; 06-07-2012 at 16:28. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a
Yeah, I know some Christians doing that.
I think it's pretty funny. I'm not religious myself, but if you aren't going to follow what your religious text (in this case, the bible) says, then you might as well just stop being religious. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aBut how can they be christians if they are consistently disobeying the bible?(Original post by S-man10)

If they feel they need to fulfil 1) and 2) listed above, then they should stop considering themselves christians. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a
Christians (and most other religions to be fair) have always cherry picked the parts of their religion that they wish to follow, it really just depends on what is convenient.
I think this image sums it up pretty well:

Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aNot a Christian, but going to go ahead and point out that it also doesn't say it is permitted to play video games, drive a car, bungee jump, or use a computer in the bible, you have constructed a really ****ty argument.(Original post by Really_Gonna_Rock_)
Where in the Bible does it say that having sex with your girlfriend or boyfriend is allowed? Look in the Bible. Nowhere does it say this is permitted.
And to be fair, it doesn't say anywhere in the bible that premarital sex is prohibited. It says sexual immorality is, but it doesn't define that, and that's a completely subjective viewpoint. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aAs a practising Muslim I second this. OP, please get a life, if your a Muslim, spend your time educating yourself about the deen, and the etiquettes of liaising with your brothers and sisters in Islam, as well as you're brothers and sisters in humanity. There is many forbidden things that Muslims aren't supposed to do yet they do it. Shaving is forbidden, but loads of Muslims shave and start fingerpointing at women who don't wear hijab. The vast majority of these people are deluded, please don't make yourself one of these people. In some Muslim country's alcohol and some other things that are forbidden in Islam are legal. Before you change the world, you should change yourself.(Original post by Flash7)
I've met a lot of Muslims who are doing the same. -

Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aI went to a Catholic school.
I can't think of anyone (aside from the socially inept) from there that are still virgin.
Good old religious hypocrites, gotta love 'em.
As a non-believer, and biology student, sex is completely natural, and a very natural desire that is mentally unhealthy to try to repress.Last edited by Alpharius; 06-07-2012 at 16:39. -

Also,
Where in the bible does it say that breathing is permitted?
Where in the bible does it say that combing your hair is permitted? -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a
One of the commandments says adultery is wrong - so sex out of wedlock is wrong.
EDIT: The people negging me have clearly broken this commandment and will now be going to hell according to their own religion.
p.s. I'm an atheist, and have learnt this during the dire days of GCSE RE and through my many christian friends, so if I have misunderstood this rather clear commandment then do let me know.

Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a
Interesting, apparently the Bible doesn't actually prohibit sex before marriage, only sexual immorality..
Obviously I don't know much about how to interpret that.. maybe 'no sex before marriage' is a safe way to prevent sexual immorality, like one-nighters and the like. What if you truly, honestly, wanted to spend the rest of your life with someone, and so any sex between you both wouldn't carry emotions of sexual immorality?
Personally not had sex yet, but I can see there's a difference between sex through desire and lust, and sex between two people in love. Not sure where I stand on the issue, really. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aWhat exactly is your definition of adultery, because I don't think you quite understand it.(Original post by Bright.Inspiration.)

Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a
I think you have to consider many of the rules in the Bible (and probably other religious texts) with a level of consideration to the times in which they were made. Consider 2000 years ago. If there was a lot of sex outside of marriage, this leads to a lot of kids outside of marriage which, in those days, would be problematic. It would not have been a good thing for lots of single mothers with no husbands and hence no income to try to look after a lot of kids. As (generally) there wasn't divorce in these societies, once married, the husband and wife were far better prepared to look after and raise kids.
Now let's fast forward to the present day. Now we have condoms and other forms of birth control, and we have greater support networks for families who have children they cannot afford. If a boyfriend and a girlfriend are having protected sex, chances are, they aren't going to have a baby. They aren't sleeping around, so they aren't breaking any morals in that respect. If these rules were being formed now, I would expect that the rules wouldn't be 'no sex before marriage', but 'no sex outside a stable and loving relationship' -

One of the commandments says adultery is wrong - so sex out of wedlock is wrong.
"The word translated as "adultery" in the New Testament of the Bible is the Greek word moicheia. Its primary meaning was sexual intercourse between a married woman and any man other than her husband. However, the New Testament generally forbids all extramarital sex, so sexual intercourse between a married man and any woman other than his wife is also forbidden. In common usage today, "adultery" includes both cases above."

So I don't think adultery applies to two unmarried people, perhaps if one of them HAD been married, I'm not sure. But two people who've never been married, that's not adultery -
