Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a
As has been said before, the Bible forbids sexual immorality and adultery. It's subjective whether you interpret this mean sex between married people outside of their marriage, or sex between non-married people. So if you believe the former then you believe that cheating on your husband/wife is immoral and is what the Bible forbids, and if you believe the latter then you believe that not only is cheating on your husband/wife immoral and forbidden, but so is sex with anyone before you are married.
Completely subjective. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aare you actually christian? it depends on which denomination you belong to if you can have sex before marriage. they don't all believe in the same thing. just like some christian's believe in abortion in certain cases or gay equal rights. some groups say its fine to have sex as long as you are in a committed relationship and plan on getting married while others are a lot more strict about it. i have some friends who are roman catholic but do it. i don't know whats up with that, lack of self control and a relaxed approach to religion probably. however they don't go preaching about what's right and wrong to everyone else so i don't think they are hypocrites.(Original post by Really_Gonna_Rock_)
So Christians are not supposed to have sex before marriage, as that's forbidden in their religion.
But I've met a lot of people who claim to be Christians who are having sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend, who they are not married to.
Where in the Bible does it say that having sex with your girlfriend or boyfriend is allowed? Look in the Bible. Nowhere does it say this is permitted.
So Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend are basically hypocrites and are committing a sin, according to their religion.
Any Christians here who have sex with their gf or bf? How do you justify it to yourself, when your religion blatantly says not to have sex before marriage? -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aWhy the hell is it any of your damn business, what I label myself and what I do (consensually!) with my boyfriend?(Original post by Really_Gonna_Rock_)

There are worse things you can do, as a Christian, than make love. Love is what the Christian faith is based on. -

As a Muslim, I do find it extremely annoying that other people who call themselves Muslims, Chrisitians and Jews don't even follow the basic rules of their religion.
As a non-believer I find it absurd that so many people claim to be adherents of particular faiths when they blatantly ignore the teachings and break the rules of X faith. So yeah.
Deists >>>>> the illogical faithful.Last edited by concubine; 06-07-2012 at 17:06. -

Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aLove yeah....but you're not allowed to have sex with someone before marriage. So if you're having sex with your boyfriend, you're a hypocrite and not a proper Christian.(Original post by Historiana)

The bottom line: either you choose to follow the rules or your religion, or you can't call yourself a member of that religion. You can't pick and choose which rules apply to you and which don't, just to suit your own needs. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing a
If you don't don't feel comfortable having sex with your girlfriend OP I'd be more than happy to do the job instead.
You get to keep to your stupid rules, I get to have fun, your girlfriend gets to have fun, everyone's a winner! -

God, Sanctimonious trolls irritate me.
I'll do what I want, with whoever I want, when I want.
And I'll call myself whatever I want. You just try and stop me. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aI don't think that's meant literally. I think it means to discipline then, i.e. smack them if they behave badly.(Original post by roflcakes1)
The Bible also says that we should stone disobedient children, so are Christians apparently sinning if they don't do this too? -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aYou don't sound terribly christian-like.(Original post by Historiana)

Taking god's name in vain as well... Why call yourself a christian if you don't actually follow the rules? -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aHow can it 'depend on which denomination you belong to'. The Bible is clear: no sex before marriage. How does that leave room for interpretation? You Christians just want to make up which rules suit you and which don't, in order to justify your own actions and your inability to adhere to the rules of your religion.(Original post by kaypc)

Personally, I'm not a Christian no. I'm a Deist, i.e. I believe in God but I do not believe in religion. I don't believe God gets involved in the moral side of life, and I believe God gave us sex to enjoy as we want to. -

Calling me illogical is such a lazy and unproductive argument.
I was siding with you, bbgirl.
But the only 'logical' reasons to follow a religion are just so depressing, like the need to be part of some group or to have people providing false hope of an afterlife through idyllic stories. -
Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aNo, it's not subjective. The Bible states clearly that there is to be no sex outside marriage if you are Christian. If you're not married and you are having sex, you're committing a sin if you are a Christian, end of.(Original post by funsongfactory)

Re: Christians who have sex with their girlfriend or boyfriend: you are committing aWhere exactly does the Bible explicitly say that? And before you go find the passage, the word 'fornication' is a mistranslation from the original Greek so if you were going to use that your argument is invalid.(Original post by Really_Gonna_Rock_)

It's a case of 'do as I say, not as I do'. Again, you're picking and choosing which rules apply to you and which don't. You're not allowed to do that in religion...you have to follow their rules totally and not partially, otherwise you're a blatant hypocrite.
