Personally, I'm not a Christian no. I'm a Deist, i.e. I believe in God but I do not believe in religion. I don't believe God gets involved in the moral side of life, and I believe God gave us sex to enjoy as we want to.

excuse me but that's being very general and ignorant. i don't believe in sex before marriage but i do leave room for interpretation and use my conscience in making decisions just like Jesus did. we don't just 'follow rules' as they are. not even Jesus did that, he disobeyed moses law and fought for what he believed in. sorry for seeming rude but it annoys me when people critique religions they don't know in depth about.

This 'crappy' world is anything but crappy. That it exists at all, and that we came to be upon it is the closest thing there is to a miracle. The Earth is beautiful, all the more so because it wasn't created in 7 days by some temperamental bitch of a God.

I find that people doing good things knowing that much of the time they won't be rewarded is profoundly more uplifting than someone doing so because they wish for a place in 'paradise'. The view that your life on this planet is purely a stepping stone to some fairy tale land just devalues the awesomeness of life and provides disgusting 'justification' for all kinds of foul behaviour.

i class myself as a christian, but not practising.

iv slept with partners and will carry on doing as its something were on this earth to do. and its something fun, and i think it helps build a stronger bond.

i wouldnt want to marry someone that im not compatible with in bed, i know that sounds vein, but i think it should be fun and exciting, not be seen as a chore...

Paradise isn't the primary reason behind doing good. As the Qur'an describes: "good besets good". It's a wonderful continuous incentive and justification for good while praising good deeds for their goodness by themselves simultaneously. In Islam, you don't recieve sins for bad thoughts or even bad intentions or even bad deeds without intentions behind them.

However, you do recieve rewards for good thoughts, more for good intentions even if the intention isn't carried out and even more for goods deeds, even if they weren't intended. If that isn't mercy, I don't know what is.

Why do you need to be married? I know people who have been together for 30 years and they haven't got married, they believe they don't need a piece of paper to say that they can have sex. They're Christians and they believe that got knows they are committed to each other and they don't think its a sin because they have no plans to leave the other, but they also have no plan to get married. Also what was marriage back in the bible? Pretty sure it wasn't the same as what it is now, so who says that when people get married now it's what god meant?

Your information is wrong. Liberal Christians accept sex before marriage as a way of expressing a couple's love for one another (this is in the r.s gcse text book, don't know why I remember it ) and to strengthen their relationship. This is because it may be the most loving thing to do (agape = unconditional love).
However, the more Traditional Christians like Roman Catholic Church believe sex before marriage is wrong because fornication is sinful.
Obviously every Christian has their own view and some Liberals may look towards the Bible.
BUT, no Christian actually follows the Bible 100% as there are parts including things like a woman should never have authority over a man (sexism), and accepting slavery. If these things are ignored, sex before marriage can be ignored as it isn't morally wrong, is it now?

Under the idea of what a hypocrite is that you're portraying every religous person in the world would be a 'hypocrite'. It's not about being a hypocrite, in life everyone makes mistakes whether it's on religous terms or not.
The whole idea of following a faith is to try and follow it, not be flawless.

Before you try and batter people, think about what you're actually saying. Also, i wouldn't put everyone who considers themselves a christian under the same belt, because everyone has different ideas of what because a christian/follower of a faith really is.
