Not every uni has daily cleaners and even then people can still come in and mess it up after the cleaners have been but before you go in.
    Most unis do.

Its unlikely to get particularly messy in a few hours. I don't understand what exactly it is that you think other people get up to in the bathroom, 99% of students will be just as clean and tidy as you.

    That's what worries me!

I'm perfectly fine with my own dirty clothes all over the floor, my own spat out toothpaste stuck to the sink because I was in too much of a rush to rinse properly, my own hair in the shower that I didn't notice hadn't been washed down the plughole etc. but when it's somebody else's then it's gross. I've also previously (when very drunk) thrown up in my own bathroom at home and not cleared it up until the morning. Cleaning that up the next day was a bit gross but if I'd walked into a bathroom and someone else's sick was there it would be a hundred times worse if not more so.

I think other people get up to the same things as me in the bathroom but after we've settled in at least some of them will start to not really care about not looking bad in front of everyone else and/or will just leave it to the cleaners since "it's their job". Or they may just leave it in a state when they're drunk, as I know I would.

If the messy flatmate(s) use(s) the bathroom pretty much straight after the cleaners go then you've got around 23 hours to put up with it and they've got 23 hours to mess it up even more. And that is assuming the cleaners do come every single day. That person you quoted clearly either did have flatmates who could mess up the bathroom in that time and/or didn't have daily cleaners and/or the cleaners only cleaned but not tidied and/or the cleaners didn't do their jobs properly. The point is that it can happen so wanting to ensure it doesn't is a valid reason for wanting an ensuite.

I'm comfortable with my own mess, but not 5 other peoples'... They can keep their dried on tooth paste and pubes in the shower! VOM!

I can't speak for everyone else, but the reason I wanted an en-suite is just because of the convenience of it, also I don't want to be puking up and being ill in a communal bathroom is quite embarrassing. Also people like to play pranks at uni like stealing your clothes and towels and pooing in the cistern. So, En-suite please.

Although communal bathrooms could be more social... ?

That's what these things called "cleaners" are paid to sort out for you on a daily basis.

Besides, what kind of animals did you live with?
Not sure these things you call 'cleaners' would clear any of that up.

You'd be surprised what normal people are like at university.

I've lived in three different halls of residences. I've yet to see anyone **** anywhere but the toilet.

You've clearly never had a housemates cousins come over and get so drunk they forget the most basic of human functions and lose ALL spatial awareness.
