Greens next to Britannia stadium
Shapes at Fenton Manor Leisure Centre
Used to go to Greens and worked at Shapes for years - both are good.
do you know how much the membership at Greens is? (or was when you went there) I can't seem to find it on the website

Re: gymsI left because I thought it was too expensive.. it was about £39 when I joined, but it went up every year and was about £50 when I left - very nice pool area though. I moved to a gym without a pool so managed to save a lot of money.(Original post by boba)
thank you

You *used* to be able to buy swim vouchers for Fenton Manor (E.g. 10 swims for £20) rather than paying for each individual swim - could it work out cheaper to stay at your current gym and just swim at Fenton? I'm sure if you call them, they'll let you know if that's still an option. -

I don't have a current gym I'm currently at home in the north east but have been going swimming 3-5 times a week. The main point of me joining the gym was that it would hopefully work out cheaper with the actual access to the gym being more of an added bonus.

Re: gymsIn that case Jubilee or Fenton Manor would be best.. There is a small one in Hanley in the Quality Hotel, but if you like working out you'd find the first two better.(Original post by boba)
oh well I don't think I will be going there then

Jubilee in Newcastle has a fantastic new pool. It's £1.65 for a swim with a Keele card and a Lyme card (provided free - just fill out a form). Never been in the gym but heard good things about it. They have really flexible swimming times as well. Evenings are best and avoid 3-6pm cause they have kids swimming lessons that take up the majority of the pool.
There's a PureGym as well, but no pool. That's really cheap, but its out towards festival park on the 34 bus
