Some have commented about the charge in Ireland. I wouldn't go for that as there you still get a paper bag which are just as bad for the environment - the Welsh one is better.
Apologies for the long delay in replying. You make an interesting point with the paper bag thing, and certainly one we haven't though about. I'm surprised by this (I always thought that paper bags were environmentally friendly), but after researching it a bit on the internet it seems that they are indeed quite harmful. We will add something about paper bags in the third reading- if you wish we can include your name as a contributor to the Bill.Last edited by stanlas; 11-07-2012 at 09:47.
