GP or A&E?
I had a viral infection with laryngitis about a month ago. This developed into a secondary bacterial infection of my trachea so the doctor prescribed me anti-b's, which finished last Thursday? My cough hasn't gone away and I'm now wheezing, my chest feels tight ( and like I have a lump in my left side of chest) and I'm struggling to breathe sometimes.
Basically should I go to a&e or wait to Monday and see my GP? I'm not sure if this is normal or my symptoms are serious?
Thanks in advance! -
Re: GP or A&E?Hi- I took your advice and rang the Out of ours service. Ending up going to the local hospital and they gave me more antibiotics and an inhaler. Thanks for the advice, I didn't know the out hours service dealt with non-emergency stuff.(Original post by Egypt)
If you're struggling to breath and are worried go to A&E.
An alternative that everyone seems to forget is your Out of hours GP. There is GP cover all across the UK. If you ring your GP practice they will probably have a recording telling you who to ring for out of hours service.
