I think it's revolting the way the media consciously and deliberately misrepresents politics. The shouting matches that go on at PMQs are completely unrepresentative of the sober, technocratic, and downright dull discussion that constitutues the overwhelming majority of Parliamentary debate. Public trust in institutions is eroded by a vile and pernicious media establishment; politicians then imagine that this the fault of the institutions themselves and throw themselves into frenetic efforts to pile misguided reform on misguided reform, leaving us in a perpetual vortex of reformist agitation. I would love to see politicians stand up for themselves and put a stop to this; a good first step might be banning TV cameras from the House of Commons. Unless we believe that an uninhibted media, run by a globetrotting cosmopolitan oligarchy that cares nothing for our country and in practice protects only its own freedom, is more valuable than a constitution that has guaranteed uninterrupted enjoyment of real liberty for more than three centuries, it's about time we recognised this problem.

You have to admit it is pretty funny how these MPs crumble under pressure when the cameras are on!

    Number 10 you're next lol!

I always enjoyed Hague’s one from when Tony Blair was eyeing up the European Presidency. Overall though I do find it rather entertaining, Britain certainly has one of the more lively legislatures out there.

Mr. Alan Beith (Berwick-upon-Tweed) Will the Prime Minister tell us whether she intends to continue her personal fight against a single currency and an independent central bank when she leaves office?

Mr. Dennis Skinner (Bolsover) No. She is going to be the governor. [Laughter.]

The Prime Minister: WHAT A GOOD IDEA!

    ___

I LMAO when she made that comeback

In that case, I suggest you avoid becoming an MP at all costs.

I always think of the lack of decorum in House of Commons debates whenever the Daily Mail publishes articles about the 'shocking antics' of Oxbridge students, our 'future leaders'. It's hilarious.
