You can have a look on their virtual tour on their website.. But from what I've heard, Bateson and Harry law are amongst the mankiest. But Harry law is worse.
Harry law is a corridor style so people can basically walk into your kitchen and steal your food... Haven't seen Bateson but it looked alright from the outside.

There are locks on some of the cupboards - in Harry Law at least, I imagine Bateson will be much the same.
Bateson is flat based so you can narrow down whose been in your stash a little easier as opposed to HL which is corridor style, so if you leave your kitchen door propped open anyone with a key on your floor can wander in. -
Re: Bateson halls 2012The virtual tour doesn't give any indication of the halls. The rooms are pretty much all standard, depending on where in the building they are changes what size the room is but they're all very small (as uni rooms normally are) but you really don't get any concept of how SMALL they are until you go in one in person. I made a list of the halls I'd prefer to stay in before I visited them by going through them on the virtual tour site.(Original post by The Pixel Ninja)
i have had a look at the room on the virtual tour and Bateson seems ok it doesn't look manky at all.
Completely changed my list once I'd seen the halls in person. Now I don't want to stay in halls at all, going to go private :P
I'd be scared staying in Bateson, it looks like a prison from the outside. But hey that's half the fun! :] It's directly opposite Harry Law too, which is also pretty dim and grungy, inside and out. They're right next to the uni though, were as Rees and Burrel and Langstone are a bit further out. You could probably get out of bed at 8:50 and be in the lecture for 9:00 :]
Probably have a good community in them too. I wouldn't worry, it's only the first year, you'll probably never be in the halls anyway

Yeah but Harry law is. Bateson is better. Tbh though halls aren't really that important, it's the people that you meet and whether you have a great time.(Original post by The Pixel Ninja)

Re: Bateson halls 2012Harry Law kitchens have locks on them that you have to swipe your door card on to get into... and it's really not that bad. Live five of my mates have lived there over the last couple of years and it just seems like standard halls tbh(Original post by Gajanp1993)

You should have a look on Facebook, there are quite a few groups for halls where everyone is posting their flat numbers. I'm doing interior design, apparently interior design and architecture students work together in the first year, so I guess I'll see you there :P
