First athletics training session, body aches!Last thursday, I went to my first ever proper athletics training session and I was pushed hard. It was the first time in 3 years since I went back on the track.
I used to be a top sprinter but academia got in the way and I decided to drop it to focus on GCSE's and A levels.
So, my whole body is aching. I'm really stiff when I walk and muscles are really strained. I really want to start to run again because I thoroughly enjoy it
But if I'm going to be like this after every training session, I don't think I can cope.
So, what can do I to relieve the pain?
Any ideas on the sort of diet I should be having if I want to take it seriously?
What can I do at home to help myself?
How do I get faster?
I have strong start but everyone else can accelerate and I just can't accelerate on the track (100m), so I get overtaken easily
Back in the days, I relied on my natural ability to run fast, didn't care what I ate, didn't train but was still good enough to win races, but now, time has caught up with me

Sounds like you're suffering with DOMs. (I'm scared to use that acronym after Tink)
Once you're recovered from the last run, it might be worth trying 3/4 runs in a week at medium intensity. Rather than pushing yourself to breaking point as soon as you start again ease yourself in. You should be able to build up stamina fairly quickly. As for the acceleration it might be worth doing explosive leg work?
I'm not a runner at all - this 'advice' is purely speculative, rowing is where it's at!

Remember, I did no training prior to last week whatsoever -
Don't worry if it DOMs it'll have cleared in a few days. Yeah running at the park is fine, just bare in mind it's the speed and distance that you've got to alter. Start with a light run for a shortish distance. Once you're comfortable with that (probably straight away) alter one of the variables. As for explosive leg work, I'd say squats, weighted lunges and leg press? Throw in some 30/30 splits rowing at 90/95% max and see how you feel.

so will the long runs around benefit me or I should probably focus on the leg explosive work. Haven't signed up for gym membership just yet

You will get used to it, first sessions are always the worse. It normally takes a month to get back into the swing of things with 2-3 sessions a week.
I think you should definitely join a gym and do 'starting strength' routine using powercleans.
