    Littlemisspiglets Transformation Blog
Hi everyone, Well im still new on here but everyone seems great so thought i would join in with the contest. I dont think i have any chance of winning but thought it would be good motivation to try make a change and get a better lifestyle.

I'm 23 and for the past couple years ive said i would try lose weight but gave up within few weeks I'm hopeing this time will be different, as my body is getting me down, i feel so ashamed and depressed that ive let myself get this way. I'm now 13 stone at 5'3 (pics in the entry thread )

I want to prove everyone i know wrong, as they dont think i will ever have the determination to lose weight and i would like to make a few friends on here and give each other support, as i sure need it

Will update with my exercise and diet plan later!

Hopefully you'll find this great motivation. If you're like me the thought of random strangers on the internet being let down by you not finishing will push you to keep working and changing.

^ Thanks for the above comments and support

Just been to the gym and worn out now, but will be worth it in the end (i hope)!

My aim is to start going to the gym at least 3 times a week and swimming once a week and build it up from there. Im only starting with about 40 minutes of cardio but try to vary the machines and resistance. Then im using some of the weight machines and doing a few kettlebell moves.

With my diet, im trying to cut out junk food, sugar in tea etc but still going to allow myself maybe the odd little chocolate (cant resist it) if i keep the exercise up. Im trying to find some quick and simple recipes for healthy meals.

I think its now or never for me losing weight. so fingers crossed

I want to start running aswell but bit embarrased to do so infront of people. Today hasnt been too bad food wise i dont think, could have been better but not feeling that well today: so far had a bowl of cornflakes for breakfast, then small amount of scrambled egg on brown toast. For tea im going to try to have chicken with vegetables carrots, broccoli etc.. And snack of melon and a yoghurt

We're all in the same position so don't worry I find having a blog on here serves as great motivation, as people come and post advice etc.

    Good luck!

It sounds mad when you put it like that! But still, I love it!

I have had this problem for so long. I'm now coming to the conclusion that running is such good exercise that being embarrassed about it is a total waste of time. I now summon up the courage to run outside maybe one a week, and run round my garden the rest of the time. Although that's been under water the past few days so it would be more of a swim if I tried it!

Remember that people who see you will only see you for a very short time as you run past. They won't give you a second thought for the rest of the day. I sometimes get idiot school boys shouting things, or trying to run along side me, but to be honest who cares! This is YOUR body, and YOU have the power to make it awesome! So don't worry what anyone else thinks.

I also find running with sunglasses helps...no idea why but I feel more invincible if I've got sunglasses on...though with the rain atm you may look a bit silly!

The first time will be the hardest, then you'll realise it's not too bad. You will get there, don't worry. It feels impossible at the beginning but once you get into a routine it's really not that bad.

Thank you! Yeah I've lost 95lbs since Jan 2011 which was when I started weighing myself, but according to records with my doctor I've lost around 112lbs since my heaviest weight! But I never saw that on the scales myself so I don't count it lol.

Don't push yourself too much. 4 times in one week is excellent! If you do too much in one week it doesn't allow for muscle recovery. Maybe instead go for a nice brisk walk, which is easier on your joints and also means some fresh air?

    Bit of criticism here.

I do not like this attitude to diet. You are talking in general terms. Like cutting out junk food. There is no such thing as junk food. Food just has properties. It is very easy for people to think of foods as good or bad. It is nonsense. For example low fat foods are often considered good, but very often the fat is substituted with sugar, which can add calories ( the import metric for fat loss)

What I think you should do is record your diet in a calorie counter, such as my fitness pro, and this will help you actually approach fat loss in a scientific way.

Set yourself a daily calorie target and just hit it. If you want some chocolate, fine. You can still hit your target.

    That's great
Your diet sounds nice and balanced. And whilst it's ok to treat yourself occasionally, maybe try and steer clear of salty foods cuz they make you retain water dark chocolate is an awesome treat equivalent :3

Oh and porridge is delish! I had it this morning, and instead of using cow's milk I use rice milk (I'm slightly lactose intolerant). Yummmmmm

They should be more concerned with what they are doing if they're in the gym with you, than what a stranger is doing. If not, then they obviously aren't working out hard enough and therefore their opinion can be safely ignored
