I can think of quite a few people who will maybe much more nominations than I! I'm not getting my hopes up!

If anybody hasn't already nominated, please can you do so NOW! It's nearly time! You may just get your nominations in before the gate closes!

Polynomials are actually a part of C1 too... :curious:

And I really don't think you should be 'creating' your own Maths modules. You do realise that a lot of people will mock and ridicule you for this, don't you? Try not to put yourself in these types of situations so frequently..

hello there. How're the holidays treating ya?

That really does sound incredible! I wish that was my work experience you're so lucky!
Why not create maths modules?-it is a lot of fun and have you tried the question ?-I have also created other topics which I will probrably add onto that like Lateral Solutions,Unrelated Exponentiation,Simplest Numeric Form etc

Because it is not Mathematics. You can't just 'make' Mathematics.

I disagree that you can create Maths-Maths can be seen from many perspectives and a lot of people in the past have creating Maths and Maths that could be argued as wrong(etc root -1=i) and many strange symbols that shouldn't really be there, that were literally just created to make maths harder eg.Factorial.

How could i^2=-1 be argued as wrong? The differences between complex numbers and your made up Maths are:
    - Your maths has no practical applications. What could it possibly be used for to improve our everyday life?

    - Your maths has no 'back-up' so to speak. It has never been published in any Mathematical Papers, so how can it instantaneously be included into a syllabus which you think people will automatically accept?

    - Anybody could just make up Maths. It's whether it actually means something, and has reasonable contributions to proofs.

Just for the record - we have complex number to make maths easier, not harder.

You put him in his place, don't worry, he'll think of something to *attempt to* argue back with... :hmmm:

Just making sure everyone has at least had a chance to try the question and how does the root-1 have any practical applications, when it isn't even a real number and most of maths is just stupid,in the way that it doesn't help people in the real world as if you going to be in a situation x cubed+2 x squared +3 x equals 22,what is x?

At my college we dont have subject blocks...we just choose what we want lol.

It must suck having to go to hospital so much, I've only ever be twice for me...and they were both for allergy testings :P

Hopefully you'll be fine for physics, it's not your fault you get ill!! I'm lucky I never really get too ill...I mean I always seem to get hayfever or colds but I rarely get so ill I really can't go to school...a couple of years ago I made a deal with mum that if I got 100% attendance at school up until last November she'd take me to the breaking Dawn premiere, so then obviously I went to school even when I was ill and just sat trying not to be sick all day! Haha

It was a while ago I looked but if i remember rightly I don't think you actually have to do biology at A level to do medicine...I think you just need to do chemistry and then either biology, physics or maths, so I think you could still do it if you wanted

We're obviously pretty similar if we keep looking at the same kind of jobs! Lol. Do you not want to do clinical psychology anymore? Or would you want to if your mum wasn't fussy? I'm lucky my mums always been like 'psychology seems interesting' and I think she's always wanted to learn it...but now I can, and its probably the subject I'm most looking forward to!

Haha don't worry about it being a long reply, I'm pretty sure this is just as long :P x

Haha lucky! Wish I could chose what I wanted

Haha I'd have no chance at getting 100% xD

Woooo!!! That would be cool cos I'm doing chem and phys!

I think I probably would because it has really good pay (especially at the top end and also seems really interesting I couldn't bear a repetitive mundane job)

Haha I think my mum thinks it'd be interesting but she's very old fashioned, likes humanities and sciences etc. :/
    xx
