Re: Current Year 11 thread mark IV (woo!) / Year 12 2012/13It's on all day as well so it's easy to lose track of time! There's so many events so I guess you'll never be bored. My gym is 13 miles away from my home (but really close to my school) so during the holidays I'm trying to take up more activities like swimming and cycling to stay active between gym sessions.(Original post by DrumChops)
Watching the Olympics serves as a really good way to pass the time, up until the 12th August. For the 11 days left I'll be working out at the gym with vehemence, more than what I'm already doing.
What I really, really, need, is some work exp. can't find vacancies anywhere, may well be too late
I agree on the work exp. Since my last exam I've been looking for any jobs or experience vacancies and it seems everything was taken beforehand. It's annoying how most, if not all, jobs nowadays ask for experience. I can't get any because they all need experience, which I don't have at the moment

Re: Current Year 11 thread mark IV (woo!) / Year 12 2012/13
I got an interview for a job in a shoe shop last week and they said they would train me up and everything with an induction day so hopefully I get it. I also applied to WHSmith so would hear fro them in a few weeks if I've been shortlisted. Unfortunately minimum wage for our age is 3.68 I think

Re: Current Year 11 thread mark IV (woo!) / Year 12 2012/13
I have applied for jobs at two restaurants, costa, starbucks, boots, the perfume shop, some posh shop which I have forgotten the name of, a teaching assistant, and probably a few more. I've already done a weeks voluntary work as well. It is just so hard to get a job up here. -.-

What/where are you doing work exp? and are you enjoying it? Sounds better than my summer plans anyway

and getting money for it is even better!
Oh, I'm from Luton so there aren't any rich people to sell pianos to
(It was voted the worst place to live in England once!) I've been looking and there is nothing online, in Connexions etc. so I think I'll start actually going to specific places and asking in the shop. How did you get your placements, if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Current Year 11 thread mark IV (woo!) / Year 12 2012/13Connections and job center is rubbish, go and ask the shops, I asked about 10 before I got 1(Original post by jordltfc)
