So many to pick from... I'll pick Classical greece, start around 480 BC... I'd then like to hang around for 150 years or so, seeing the rise and fall of Sparta (Thermopylae, Platea etc) and then see the rise of Macedon.... :coma:

Before people hate, on my passion for Sparta.... consider this anecdote; Philip of Macedon (father of Alexander the Great) proclaimed to the Spartans "You are advised to submit without further delay, for if I bring my army into your land, I will destroy your farms, slay your people, and raze your city."

    The Spartans reply: "If"

That is a quality put down, 2000+ years later!

    Spoiler:
    Show
Other periods I'd like to see: Clasical Rome, dark age Britain, to see the Mongol Hordes, pre-Roman Euorpe, pre- pioneer America and finally the crusades! I know you said one, but History is full of people and things I'd like to see!!
I love Sparta . I'd definitely like to go back to ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian War and watch all the battles. I'd also love to live in Sparta for a couple of months and see how Spartan society was REALLY like. There's only so much Athenian sources can tell us without being subjective so seeing it for myself would just be amazing.

Also, I wouldn't mind going to ancient Rome for a while, maybe from Tiberius' reign to the fall of the Roman Empire.

Was talking about this with my friends the other day. As girls, we decided our answer would depend on whether we would still be girls the. If not, we all chose some ancient time, if so it was generally a lot more modern, but it varied.
Personally WW1. Not the front, but the home front or hospitals. It was an incredible time that really interests me, but probable not one you'd want to experience first hand.

I'd like to see Russia through the ages from Imperialist Russia to Putinist Russia, I'd also like to see Germany from the start of the 1900's to now (especially WW1, the peacetime years and WW2)... I think that both countries over time have a lot to offer from is a historical point of view and I'd love to experience it all.

To just before the creation of the universe so we can sort all this religion stuff out.

But failing that, either mid 80's - early 90's, the music, decor and general atmosphere interests me.

I don't have the right hair but the 1920s and be a flapper and visit a big city like New York where I could watch all of the shows and the early films and attend sophisticated dance events with sophisticated people yet have the freedom sit ontop of planes and do loads of other daring stuff

Somehow back then seems like more freedom compared to now?!
    In what way?

The Hundred Years War. I'm fascinated by medieval warfare and I'd like to see Henry kick some French butt at Agincourt.

Re: What period would you want to go to?
considering things only really get better as time goes on, I can't see why I would want to go into the past

though I often dreamed of going back to an earlier Britain like Henry the 8th time and then becoming an advisor to the king with all my modern knowledges of science, history and warfare etc, I would do lots of studying then go back and help forge a British empire ! I would love to create the world in my vision, free of religion where science, progress and inventiveness is rewarded greatly and all citizens would be hard working on big projects, I don't think I would have a problem with getting a head start on utilizing African slavery either in order to accomplish my goals

Though if I had to chose, I probably just chose the lazy route and go forward in time to live a lazy life of futuristic gaming and robot janitors
