Sony VAIO E17 Keyboard Sheet
Hey, guys:
I am wondering about a very peculiar feature of this laptop. I've never seen it before, and no one seems to know anything. Getting through to corporate Sony is also not the easiest business. The keys are integrated into a silicone-like keyboard sheet, so the result of pressing one key is that the sheet depresses (and so do around 5 keys around the one you press). Those keys are not pressed; they just go down along with the sheet. Seems a really odd feature to have, but it's on display models as well, so it's not an isolated incident. Someone designed it for some reason, and I would really like to know the reason and the durability of such a keyboard. I've built custom computers in the past and things like that, so I'm not a stranger, but this keyboard has left me speechless.
Thanks. -
Re: Sony VAIO E17 Keyboard Sheet
I still love the VAIO E17, but I have to say I've become a bit disenchanted with the audio quality from the built-in speakers. It's tinny, and hollow. I would dock a star off the review if it weren't for the fact that this VAIO comes with high quality noise-canceling earbuds that are meant to be used with the computer. This balances out the speaker's shortcomings. Having Bluetooth and being able to use my wireless headphones also steps around the speaker's weaknesses. In short, if you want to play music on this computer, be sure you have an external speaker solution because the built-in speaker is just for the basics.

Re: Sony VAIO E17 Keyboard SheetIn ear headphones have no ambiance or sound-stage. A bad audio card doesn't go well with that either.(Original post by scarletgirl)
