    A-Level SY2 Question(really Tough)
    So,I am in the process for creating my own A-Level Syllabuses for C3 and C4,replacing them will be SY1 and SY2 or Pure Core Symbols 1 and 2,in my new syllabus-I have created a full 24 mark question,on what is probably the hardest topic I have created for the SY modules,so far and Exponentiation Ladders is a tough concept to grasp and spell!!!The file is in Managed Attachments with the Questionm on the 1st page and Answers on the 2nd page-this isn't done very professionally,unlike the Star Trek GCSE Paper.

    Can I just ask: what is wrong with you? Why does it always have to be YOU that will do something weird like this.

    I'm so interested in Maths that I create Maths.

    Why have I ruined Maths,I have invented new topics for you to explore,before you run out of learning about all the mathematical applications currently used by mathematicians.I thought the Exponentiation Ladders is an excellent idea and I have a problem for you solve 5x=5x+14,where X doesn't equal infinity-the answer can be found,using another new concept created by me called lateral solutions.

    No answer Draw the graphs... or as it probably is I just don't know how to do it.

    Draw the graphs they never meet as they are parallel so have no intersection so no values of x except infinity

    What is your great answer then?

    Re: A-Level SY2 Question(really Tough)
     5x = 5x + 14

     0 = 14

    If, 0 = 14, then 2(0) = 2(14)

     Ergo, 0 = 28

    If you carry out this process ad infinitum, it is perspicuous that if you multiply 0 by many factors, exempli grati, 1.1 or 1.2, you will yield an infinite amount of raticioniation and posits. Your logic is mathematically flawed. 0 cannot equal the multitude of answers your concept manifests.

    X=9

    (5 X 9) +14=59

    This is what is called a Lateral Solution-it could be classed as similar to Imaginary and Real Solutions-it is a new topic,on my new A-Level Syllabus.

    Your 5X = 5X + 14 idea where the answer would be X = 9 is not new Maths. It's simply a curiosity with regards to layout. I'd be fine with considering this a lateral thinking puzzle but to call it Maths is offensive both to the subject and to those who practise it seriously.

    No,if I know that I have a digit missing on a computer after a 5 and that the digit times 5 + 14=5 with the digit following it that is a maths problem and it has been presented in such a way that it will confuse people and Lateral Maths is a form of Maths.

    New topic solve ³4=x where x is bigger than 0.

    Sorry mate, but you have fatally misunderstood mathematics, this makes no conceivable sense, you can't just invent maths. I think maybe you should stick to passing your GCSE maths first, because this is fundamentally flawed. :facepalm:

    No that would be 4³=x,which is its oxymoron exponent-a little bit of a clue
