    Difficulty of studying abroad
    Hi everybody!
I have one "simple" and direct question: is very difficult to study abroad? Not for a semester or Erasmus etc... but doing the first three year in another country!
It is not very far away (Italy - Maastricht in Holland), but obviously I cannot go home when I want!!
    Thank you.

    Hey lollo

It totally depends on your attitude when you study abroad. Even for experienced travellers like me it's a challenge to live far away from family and friends and everything familiar. But all is possible when you find new people and you can only do that by being pro active and going out of your comfort zone. Then it's a lot easier and problems with home don't seem so important anymore.

If you do your entire degree abroad, you can definitely be proud of yourself!! That's so worth it. And your cultural understanding will be a lot higher as well.

So simple answer: It is NOT very difficult to study abroad.
But it is certainly a challenge.

What are you planning on studying then?

How about the financial side of things? Did you get any scholarships/bursaries or anything like?

I study in England and am German, so I can apply for Student Loan and that is what I am doing, I have had no problems with it so far. Housing/living costs are covered by my parents, but they also would have been if I'd be studying somewhere in Germany, so it was just the tuiton fees I was personally worried about.

Not exactly sure about Maastricht, but I think Holland's tuition fees are not too high I think? At least lower than UK. Especially with the raise this year, I am lucky to be in the old system!
