Re: New here!!Hi, cool I hope you enjoy it much as I have in the last 2 years. I know a few people who study various art courses here and they all mostly enjoy it.(Original post by s.murphy)
Hey there
Could you tell me a bit about what De Montfort as I'm starting there in september studying fine art
I'm excited but nervous at the same time!
What's the atmosphere like there?
I am of course very biased, but the atmosphere at DMU is second to none, the Students Union has a great atmosphere around it and the socialising and partying are just amazing experiences.
Now I know the main aim is to do well in your degree, and people here have done exceptionally well, but I also think the social and party side is all part of the university experience.
Ask me anything else you want.

Re: New here!!I was in Grosvenor House, loved it as well. There is a lot of talk and threads over which halls is the best and all that, but they are all as equally good as each other re the partying. It all depends on who is in each halls and of course what you make it yourself.
I chose Grosvenor because it was equally as close to the university as it was to the city centre (I like to wander around the centre a lot lol)

Re: New here!!Yeah Newarke Point is next to the Fletcher building where you will spend all your time! All the halls are close to the uni though, a couple are a brisk walk away but still well within reach.(Original post by s.murphy)
Aw fair enough
I'm in Newarke point this year which is right next to where I'll be based.
I'm just excited to meet new people and have fun,
