Hey I also have an interview coming up in June - But my email doesn't mention that I'm in a group. I applied for the weekend role? What role did you apply for? Group interviews and then one to ones could be for the weekday peeps I'm guessing.

They will basically want to see what kind of person you are and if you are customer-friendly. From working at BHS I learned that a smile/friendly demeanour is important, an assured tone of voice (not arrogance but just enough confidence to show that you know what you're doing), and ability to stay calm. They understand that 16 yr olds won't be that confident as it's their first job but just show that you're capable of speaking up.

They will probably ask about what to do if you get a bad customer, or how you've handled conflict before. Just say that you'll speak to them in a calm tone of voice, listen to what their problem is, try and sort it to the best of your abilities and if you can't then say that you are not afraid to ask for help from a senior member of staff. Also you need to get across that you know the customer is always right (i.e. the customer comes first).

You need to be hardworking, be able to co-operate with others, reliable (i.e. not someone who would steal from tills!!) and flexible (i.e. you will be on tills for maybe 2hrs, in the fitting room for 1hr, back to tills, doing returns etc). So just make sure you try and show this in your interview.

I had a group interview for BHS job again (when I was 16), and we had a boring (sorry..I mean 'riveting') presentation about the company, then sat in a table of about 8 and had to chat to the person next to us to find out about themselves. We then told the other people about that person. This just shows how you interact with people so try and be extra perky and smiley We also had to pretend to sell this teddy bear to a pretend customer (BHS sells teddy bears every christmas), so I made myself volunteer to do this - I'm normally quite shy and did a terrible job but I thikn it's the volunteering that got me the job.

Good luck to all the peeps doing it, it's really nothing to worry about - once you get your job you'll forget what the fuss is about!

Yeah I confirmed by clicking the link given. Oh okay, I dont think its a group interview. Me and my friends have all been invited for interviews, and our email doesn't state group numbers. I think they'll go through the application and ask a few questions. Well so I hope lool =/

I had mine on Sunday, it wasn't a group interview, all they do in a group is give you a little talk; then they lead you down to a room where there are loads of one on one interviews going on at the same time. You sit down, they take your application, then note down your answers. It was quite rushed since they had a lot of people to go through

what store did you apply for?? is it new and did they ask you what object would you be because my sis had an interview for primark at the same hotel and she said you have a group interview cos in this way it wont waste their time as they want to see if you are confident enough and if you are successful then you have the one to one interview.

It was for a new store, in Kent, and they didn't ask what object I would be or anything. Like I said before, a group of us had an introduction, and talk; then went straight down for the interview, it was one-to-one but all of us were in the same room, being interviewed separately, at the same time. When is yours?

What you mean job opportunities? It's not like its amazing pay or anything, I wouldn't pin all my hopes on this job, since they did have like 3000 people who applied to the opening store near me.

Also, they did ask who their competitor's were, how you would deal with a rude customer, give an example of a time you worked well as part of a team, give an example of you being hard working. They could ask you different things, because there are 3 main sections on which you are asked questions. In each section there are like 4/5 questions they could ask, but they only choose one to ask you per section.

I don't really care about the pay I just need a job and to be honest i don't really care if i don't get this job. And also thats kent im talking about west end its a well known place and its hard to get jobs there because they want experienced people and i live close to west end and it will be easier for me if i get any job there because i wouldn't want to work far because I study at the same time and interviews are different so that may not ask the same questions and plus this is my first ever interview.

I'm going to take one today. Do you have any idea what might happen there? I really don't have much experience and I've never had a job before.
