You can try contacting them or just be on the safe side and forget about it and apply on other places who knows they might reply

I got an email today saying my interview was successful but as they have had an overwhelming response, I've been put on hold

Oh well its better than a rejection e mail. We just have to hope people drop out. Ive not heard of anyone being offered a job after being on hold though.

Oh man! STILL nothing. If people are being put on hold after being successful at interview it means that they have filled the places up. So why wont they put me out my misery and just email to let me know if i was succesdul or not????

Its a complete joke. Im sure you will getting an e mail very soon - even if it is to put you on hold. They were rejecting people pretty quickly. Ive been looking elsewhere for ages but its hard isnt it? Fingers crossed for you. (I got my on hold e mail yesterday after 32 days). Quite a few people have had them since yesterday so hopefully it wont be much longer for you.

Yeah I'm not counting on it though, been applying for many more jobs, this was the only primark job I had heard back for, all the other ones I applied for, I only received and email saying thank you for your application so I don't think I will be applying for primark again, their system is just a joke

I never stopped applying for jobs even before the interview stage. The problem is that Iv got some offers for jobs, but ther're crappy. I dont want to accept the job and then have primark give me an offer when I cant take it.

However, i dont want to reject the offers and then have no job when primark rejects me to!

No idea whatsoever, sorry. I would really like to know the answer to that myself and I have been googling like mad since yesterday but theres nothing I can find that says how long they keep you on hold - and I cant find anyone who has been offered a job after bring on hold so its quite frustrating. People on here who got jobs have been saying that people have not turned up for inductions so they have to get replacements - hopefully us people on hold.
