Someone earlier hit the nail on the head. I love tennis but don't follow it in the same way as I do football (ie support one team) so I like and support alot of players.

Like today, I am a fan of both Federer and Murray and would have happy either way the match went. Federer winning means him returning to number one and winning Wimbledon for the 7th time (joint highest with Sampras I think) and silencing the people saying he is too old. Murray winning means first British winner for 74 years, his first grand slam. So I was supporting both players. The same with the Murray/Tsonga match.

I actually am a massive fan of all the top 4 guys because I appreciate the way they play. I'm also a fan of Roddick,Tsonga, Del Potro, Ferrer etc.

I support players because I like the way they play or I like them as a person. Many people support a player like a football team and so tend to despise their biggest rivals.

I honestly think he can win the US Open.
nahh.. don't think so. Djoker/Nadal will come back bigger and better dunno about the Fed Express but I hope he can add to his tally of Slams this year! But for Murray I hope he can win the Gold medal at the Olympics in 3-4 weeks time!

Hmm maybe. I just want Murray, Tsonga and Ferrer to win just one slam each. They deserve it!

Yep they defo do. Its a shame that the top 3 are too good for these 3 (there is quite a big gap) in this day and age, so all the titles are being spread between them in the last couple of years.

The 4-6 ranked people are actually underrated and they play to the standard that the top 3 do sometimes

If Fed is to win another slam, Wimbledon is his only chance I feel. Djokovic and Nadal are better on the hardcourts and Nadal is phenomenally better on clay.

Exactly my point mate. It's not football where you have to support a team and then hate their rivals

I like both, and disagree with what the second poster said; I like both Messi and Ronaldo as well. What's not to like about some of the greatest players the respective sports have ever seen?

I like them all for different reasons, though.. obviously :holmes:

Why does everyone support the top players? It's not fair on the British players.
