Re: Do you smoke?I'll read the research in a bit but 'wife' why can't I get my 'girlfriend' or a 'ONS' pregnant? or do I have to wait until I have wife?(Original post by TheHansa)
It might seem profound to do your plan but it would probably better to quit as soon as your wife discovers she's pregnant.

Re: Do you smoke?Ha, I am not respectable and to have a child out of wedlock is nothing new in this family(Original post by TheHansa)
No of course you don't, but I assumed you were a respectable gentleman.

Re: Do you smoke?I didn't read this whole thread, but the point it YOU smoking isn't just affecting YOUR health. Heard about that horrible thing called second hand smoke? People like you piss me off. I bet you're one of those people who stand right outside the doors of a shop/pub/restaurant so it's like walking onto the stage of Stars in Their Eyes. Horrible.(Original post by llessur123)
I smoke about 5 a day. I know it's **** for my health, but it's my health. I'll probably quit before uni though because the self righteous non smokers do get on my nerves.
EDIT: Lol, point confirmed.
To answer the OP's question: no I don't smoke. It's disgusting, it stinks, it makes you look old and tired, and it's crap for your health and the health of those around you. The smoking in Nottingham was so bad it made me throat seize up. -
Re: Do you smoke?I answered this up above. I smoke in my back garden only, nobody is affected. Don't jump to conclusions, it makes you look like an *******.(Original post by umop apisdn)

Re: Do you smoke? My neighbour smokes in the garden and it still makes me feel ill. And I doubt you've only ever smoked in your garden, unless you're some sort of hermit.(Original post by llessur123)

Re: Do you smoke? That's unfortunate for you, he is entitled to smoke on his own property. I don't bring my cigarettes out of the house because I don't get to spend time to properly enjoy them and I end up aimlessly smoking much more than normal. It's not uncommon for people to do this.(Original post by umop apisdn)

Re: Do you smoke? They are worse than tobacco, you're definitely a smoker.(Original post by ESPORTIVA)
I smoke salvia, cannabis and hash, just not tobacco
Tick yes in the poll

Re: Do you smoke?
I played around with cigarettes (and the odd cigar) when I was an undergrad - gave up because I decided they were an expensive waste of time.
As a non-smoker I'm relaxed pretty much all the time, and I don't need to light up to feel better. And I have the peace of mind that I'm not slowly damaging my lungs, increasing my risk of various cancers, or causing similar health problems to those around me. Also I'm saving hundreds of quid per year, which I can put towards holidays, nice meals out etc.
And I've hardly ever met an older smoker who didn't wish they could give up.Last edited by jimbo139; 14-07-2012 at 12:36. -
Re: Do you smoke? Why would you even try?(Original post by thegodofgod)

Tried once, but I coughed the whole night long
Never looked back since
Pretty much the 2 main reason you do not smoke is because it is unhealthy and costly. So why would you even try it? You know it is addictive so by trying you only lose out. Either you continue to not smoke, or you do smoke. So you are not better off, but can be worse off.
ps ive never met someone who said they liked their first cigarette anyway.
