I'm going to be a fresher in September but I'll be living in a shared house about 15 minutes away from the uni instead of student accommodation because of my student loan.
What will it be like socialising even though I dont live in a student accommodation?

Well I guess I would say make an extra effort. If you don't make the effort, don't be surprised if you don't get involved too much. I don't see it as a massive problem - the only advantage of being in the student accommodation is you kind of have to socialize. It's like being at school - you HAVE to do the work. At UNI you don't, but with the right mindset you can still do the work!
