SD/MMS/MC slot blocked.
Earlier on I dropped my laptop and it turns out this little protection disk thing that slotted into the SD/MMS/MC reader took some force as it is now wedged into the slot, my main question is what would be the best way to get it back out? For instance as I can't take and upload a picture right now (nor will I actually attempt to get this disk out until morning) so I know it is harder for you to know the condition it is in, would it in theory be viable to loosen a couple of the screws holding the bottom of the laptop so that I get more room to actually try and get it out?

Re: SD/MMS/MC slot blocked.I would check up your laptop, because the reader bit is like a separate little bit...........I would also expect damage on the connectors to be honest. If it doesn't work, then you can always get a usb card reader.(Original post by SirMasterKey)

Re: SD/MMS/MC slot blocked. You will probably be able to take the bottom of the laptop off and expose enough of the slot to be able to force the disk back out but I can't say for sure, you may need to disassemble the laptop if the card reader is on the top of the PCB. I doubt you would be able to take the card reader off though as most are soldered on these days to lower production costs so you will have to work on it while it is still attached.(Original post by SirMasterKey)

As Iqbal007 mentioned once you get the plastic disk out there could be damage to the contacts in the reader that render it unusable, the metal contacts to bend quite easily.
