Best psychological thrillers?

Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

The Prestige is the first thing that comes to mind. I also agree with whoever suggested Memento and The Usual Suspects.

Hey, everyone has made great suggestions. Movies that are really good but haven't been recommended:
    The Village
    The Prestige
    Unbreakable
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind
    The Thirteenth Floor
    K-PAX
Basically anything directed by David Lynch
    Big Fish
    American Beauty
    Stay
    The Jacket
    Fermat's Room
    Cube
    Source Code
    Naked Lunch
    The Manchurian Candidate
    The Lazarus Project
    Primer
    Time Crimes
    Triangle
    The Machinist
    American Psycho
    One Hour Photo
    Minority Report
    The I Inside
    Gone Baby Gone
    A Beautiful Mind
    Hard Candy
    The Game
    The Box
    Pi
    Mr. Brooks
    The Butterfly Effect
    I hope this helps

I recently watched 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' and I thought it was average, quite overrated, I read the books before I watched so I don't know if that effected my viewing at all but I think you should watch it anyway.

I mentioned The Prestige a few posts ago, but any love for it is good in my books. Completely forgot about Source Code, though, that was a great film.

Oh sorry I must've missed it but yeah I love the prestige. Yes, I agree it was very underrated.

Almost everyone that I would suggest has already been said, the only one that I haven't seen suggested yet is Black Swan. I watched it a couple of weeks ago and it was really good, kinda creepy and really intense.

I agree with this and I didn't read the books before. It was very slow to start. Once it got going it was good, but not as fantastic as I was led to believe by the hype

I watched the film 'Sound of my Voice' last night which is a low budget indie film (however, for me these always seem to be the most thought provoking as most commercial hollywood blockbusters tend to spoon feed you the storyline and leave nothing to the imagination). The fact that I've signed up for this site simply to recommend it kind of tells you how good I think it is. Definitelty worth a watch. It starts off a little strange but the end left me speechless, coming up with countless theories on what I believe happened.

The film 'Misery' is good. It's based on the book by Stephen King and is about an author who after being in a car crash, is taken in and nursed by his "Number One Fan" (Kathy Bates). I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the book or seen the film, but it's so good and really suspenseful!

Oldboy is has one of the best movie plots that I've seen.

The Lives of Others also has a great plot. Don't want to go into detail or I'll give it away
