    German WJEC GCSE Grade Boundaries
    Hey Guys!

Yeah so I've now finished my german GCSE and I was wondering what the grade boundaries are for it. I had full marks in my coursework which accounted for 60% of the course and the other 40% was based on two examinations. I don't know if i did too well on the exams but after adding the marks I'm sure I've got up i reckon that i may get an overall of 90-93%. I asked my German teacher about this and she said that this would only get me an A and that the A* boundary is 95%! I only question her knowledge because she is a new teacher and has gotten stuff like this wrong in the past and so I thought id ask the Student Room community! Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks y'all! :-)

Firstly, grade boundaries vary each year depending on how hard the exam was, how well people did on it etc. so it is pretty much impossible to say how much you'll need this year for an A* overall. Having said that, though, it is unlikely that you will need about 95% for an A* overall unless the exams were very easy. Last year, you needed 32/40 on the listening and reading papers for an A*, 37/40 on the speaking controlled assessment for an A* and 36/40 on the writing controlled assessment. So if the grade boundaries are similar or the same this year, 90-93% should be an A*
