Allowing the well-to-do to pay their fees upfront ensures that they, purely by virtue of their inherited means, are able to avoid paying any interest. Either all students should pay this, or none should. It should not serve as a tax exclusively raised on the backs of those who can't instantly cough up circa £27,000 over three years.
Let me let you in on a little secret... rich people have student loans to while I didn't get a tuition loan (its £3k pa ), I got a maintenance loan and some of my fellow peers have done the same despite that we are well off... so those poor, are they being exclusively taxed more? :holmes:

Jpkc - You get the RI from birth and therefore should have plenty of money saved up provided it is in a savings account ect..

Student loans amount to £6600 outside London already in addition to bursary, this in itself is enough to live on (i am from a benefits background) so the RI in addition to this is more than enough as well as any money saved through childhood.

Students in TSR land are in a brilliant position.

Internetguru - No, i am happy with the speakers performance. If the Green Party wishes to form then somebody should stand as an independent. As for yourself i suggest you stop trolling, get serious, forget the Green Party and try get into another party.

Barnetlad - Not really something i care about, a peril of the job.

PaddY - Afraid that my laptop is not producing the images although as i like the number 2 i will use my phallus on that.

Ysolt - Whatever internet service providers choose to do is their business, either their business model will succeed or fail. If you are referring to the proposed EU legislation of a 2 speed internet then i consider that excessive state interference in mankind's greatest collective achievement.

R - Only if you are aged 40+. The exception being goatees which are cool.

Pogo - I do not support the use of narcotics and will seek to repeal the narcotics act in the 17th parliament (my probable final term - may go independent or back-bench MP). I do however support the use of high class 'courtesans'.

Mazzini - Generally positive, do not see the need for the name change however.

Myotherone - I already proposed the idea of a committee to discuss this in TSR land, you should contact Lipvig regarding more information. In RL i fully support an elected upper chamber.
    Good choice mate.
