Why are you describing them as extremists Martyn?

These are the views of the Islamic mainstream, nothing extreme about their views. Nor the violent implementation of such views given that it occurs across the whole of the Islamic world with alarming frequency. Nothing surprising about this story but I guess posting it is a necessary evil in order to expose the truth on the whole peaceful religion charade.

I think stabbing someone in the throat is pretty extreme, at least compared to debating with someone about their unorthodox views.

They believe in stoning homosexuals and women.

They also believe in executing people who leave their religion.

I wouldn't personally consider carrying out actions that have the moral support of the population, extremist.

Extremism denotes fringe actions and views, not those of the mainstream.

Barbarism is the word we're looking for. You can have a society of barbarians, but one of extremists is a non-sequitur given that their actions by definition are not extreme due to their wide acceptance amongst muslims.

We must be very careful with our language because it is abused by cultural marxists in particular. Trying to make us believe that these actions are "extreme" suggests that there is a much more peaceful majority. Actually, these barbarians are the majority. A cursory glance at the koran is all that's required to avail any naysayer of their delusions.

You're Bengali right? Would you describe Bangladesh as stuck a few hundred years back?
Not really. It has a very antiquated economy and is still playing catch-up to India, and yes, I know you can paste an article that has pictures of seemingly angry looking brown men. Generally speaking Bangladesh doesn't make for nearly as much a melting pot of insanity as rural Pakistan, and has much more of a focus on economic growth than religious evangelism.

I'll highlight that when Bengal dared to declare secular independence, for the right of democracy, the United States aided Pakistan in the genocide of Bengalis. Not quite the simple narrative you were hoping for I'm afraid. Is Bangladesh behind? Yes, undoubtedly, it's a tiny country with an ENORMOUS population that is still struggling with basic national problems like functioning hydroponic infrastructure and contamination of water supplies. That said, the nation has borrowed from its sister to the West and taken on board many of the secular practices that they endorse.

Ignoring the progress that Bangladesh has made in favour of a simple narrative is silly.
