Macbook pro retina display problems?
Alright so im really looking forward to buying the new macbook pro retina display in a couple of weeks. But ive been hearing about this ghost shadow problem with the screen which makes me worried. Has anyone who has bought the new MBP faced such a problem so far? Or is it working perfectly for u? And also, are there any other problems i need to be aware of?

From the brief topics I've read about it, it seems to be a small minority which is only made bigger than it is because everybody who has an issue will post, in contrast to those who have no issue who do not need to say anything. Even if there is a problem with ghosting on your MBPR, Apple are returning it no questions asked. -
Re: Macbook pro retina display problems?i did check it before, but so many people who had the problem posted about it and it freaked me out. what u said is very logical, and cleared my doubts to a great extent, thanks(Original post by PVisitors)

Re: Macbook pro retina display problems?
I'm still awaiting my rMBP but I do know of somebody who has had issues with their fan making strange noises.
I wouldn't worry too much because if like him, you have an issue soon after purchase they'll just replace the whole unit for you right away (so long as you buy from Apple... which you should) -
Thanks, yea for the return option just in case, i will definitely buy from apple itself(Original post by zenb)

Re: Macbook pro retina display problems?
i too have experienced several issues with mine, including fans getting loud. Now, i'm going on my third MBP Retina replacement and decided to just cancel it till they iron out all the issues typical with newly released tech.
The recurrent issues: overheating to the point of shut down (108°C), when working with processor intensive apps such as Final Cut Pro, CAD, 3D, etc. and watching 1080p HD videos on external displays. Sometimes they shut down for no apparent reason when i wasn't even touching them. Apps like Google Chrome certainly will make them shut down every single time, so i had to switch to Safari. There were also display issues with lower resolution (blurry text) and a un-snappy trackpad in one of them and a slight yellow tint issue on both screens, which is a deal breaker for visual pro users like me. So, just like someone mentioned above: buying just-out-the-door tech is basically becoming a Beta tester, since there's always initial bugs. There's no doubt this is a beautiful, mad fast powerhouse little computer way ahead of anything on the market at the moment, and I'll certainly be ordering again after a couple of weeks, but not before the preliminary issues get fixed. So my advice to you is: return it (if you still can) for a refund and just hang on till this baby is actually ready for primetime.*=}
