Computer temps, fans and fan speeds.
Now I've had my pc for about two weeks now and everythings been fine. I've been monitoring my temps a lot, but I haven't been doing 'hardcore' gaming so I haven't really pushed my pc to the limits yet.

Anyway here are my idle temps
    http://imageshack.us/f/440/69346219.png/

    How good are these?
Also I noticed that my SSD was at 0C for some reason, dunno why.
My GPU is pretty hot but the GPU fan is at 50% speed. Not sure if I should increase it or keep it that way.

They're fine, my laptop generally runs at 75°C and occasionally goes to 90+°C if im doing slightly demanding things, like playing HD films lol. Think it's days are numbered :rip:

Erm, do you mean F (Fahrenheit)? 10 more degrees and you'll be boiling water with your laptop just by watching the avengers movie lol

Didn't think movies could make your laptop get that hot, or perhaps im underestimating

Your CPU is 17C at the most.. are you using liquid nitrogen to cool it?! Mine (AMD Phenom 965BE @ stock speeds) is usually around 50C, the maximum temperature for this CPU is 62C, so I'm running it very close to the limit, it's lasted nearly 3 years being operated in this way though. Intel CPUs normally have very high temperature limits (seen one with 105C before).

A firmware update may fix the SSD showing 0C all the time. Mine has a similar problem, it always shows 30C. However it did stay at 0C before this update, I'm not sure whether they actually have temperature sensors in them or just report fake temps for compatibility with S.M.A.R.T or something like that.

That GPU temperature is absolutely fine, GPUs usually run many times hotter than CPUs, mine is currently 48C just viewing TSR. I wouldn't advise you to change the fan speed of your graphics card as they control their fans automatically. If you do change it, you will lock the fan to that speed until you switch it over to automatic again. This means that if for some reason it gets very hot, and the fan is locked to a lower speed than it should be, it could potentially overheat and damage it. If you set it to automatic, the graphics card will always keep the fan speed at a level which is quiet, but provides the cooling that is required for the GPU.

To me, those temperatures look fine. If you are concerned about them, look for the specifications of your CPU and GPU and see what the maximum operating temperatures are.

Idle temps are useless. Run prime95 blend and see what temps you get. On my processor (2500k) more than 72 degrees is deemed too high. If its above your recommended 24/7 temp, lower the OC (if you have one). Then run prime95 blend for 12 hours and see if it's stable. If it crashes during this, lower the OC. It's simple but time consuming but once you get it right your PC will run like a dream.

Also, my SSD shows 0 degrees and it's just fine. No moving parts remember. And GPUs can withstand more heat that CPUs. Mine have maxed out at 105 before which is hot, but still acceptable. Try and keep it as low as possible though which means carefully placed case fans, good air flow in the case (with good cable management) and a stable card. Use furmark to see how hot it gets under strain and how stable it is (avoid artefacts). Easy

    No it's not Fahrenheit.

Are you sure the program or whatever being used is reliable? i.e. that is the actual temperature of your ssd? 0 degrees isnt just cold, its freezing cold way below room temperature, its surprising that it can be held in the same machine as other parts that heat up and still manage to somehow get that cold.... own cooling system?

    17C isn't unusual

That's incredibly low, I forgot what your bought, but did you get an aftermarket cooler?

Also your gpu temps are a bit high without gaming and at 50% fan speed, on idle my gpu is around 40 degree's but with fan speed set at 20%

Yeah I got the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 with the motherboard.

I also checked my catalyst control center.
    GPU clock 300mhz
    memory clock 1050mhz
    temperature 49C
    fan speed 33%

and 'enable graphics overdrive' is ticked .. should I untick?

And manual fan control was on so i disabled it and now its automatically set at 33%

That kind of explains the temperature, but I wouldn't have thought the temps were that low...........what does your bios say about temps?

Something seems definitely..........manually it set to 50% for some xfx graphics cards..........now it'll be operated by the control center, so high fan speed when your pushing it which is better

The Artic cooler pro is pretty much on par with stock cooling for idle temps?
Under load it is better than stock, but not considered a "super cooler" .... it is however nice and quiet.

I said it "kind of explains it", but idle wise it should definitely be better than a stock one, it should also come with a good thermal paste which would also explain things.

I pushed my old 5850 to 98°C in a Furmark stress test once

(Needless to say, I closed Furmark rather rapidly)

    OP:
Whilst your GPU temps seem a bit toasty, I'm surprised at how cool your CPU is

jokes aside, if youre not going to do anything about it, it would be great if that heat was used, e.g. used if to heat up your drink etc (should technically help by cooling it down via siphoning off heat energy).
