Very good choice. But she would come second to the late Karen Carpenter, IMO.
Have you heard her singing with the gathering or her solo career? The Gathering are soooo much better. But they are my favourite band and I fanboy them heavily. -

Re: Who has the best voice in the world?I like some of it, but some of it bores me. A bit too poppy for my liking. Although her "cover" of you learn about it on the album "in parallel" with Danny Cavanagh is better than the original IMO. And her cover of teardrop by Massive Attack on the same CD is great.(Original post by Pastaferian)

I think I am a bit too obsessed with her, I find it difficult not to at least like anything she's ever done. -

Re: Who has the best voice in the world?Frances Barber - it's a voice I can't quite describe but I love it.
Rowan Atkinson - "petrol pump" (his TopGear interview), his voice is a big part of what makes him so funny.
There are obvious ones like Morgan Freeman, Sir David Attenbrough, Sir Trevor McDonald etc. -

Re: Who has the best voice in the world?Male Speaking Voice : David Attenborough, Sean connery, Micheal McCary (Boyz 2 Men), Barry White & Morgan Freeman.
Female Speaking Voice : Julie Andrews and can't think of any others at this moment in time.
Male Singing Voice : This is hard very hard for me but Wayna Morris from Boyz 2 Men, Micheal Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Rkelly and so on .... My personal faviourites though and yes I love Soul music, R&b etc.
Female Singing: Personally the best female singers for me are Whitney Housten Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Lauryn Hill, Beyonce, Celion Dion, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Janet Jackson, Toni Braxton, Annie Lennox, Yolanda Adams, Jeniffer Hudson, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Mary J Blidge, Leona Lewis, Pink and so on ....... But these are my faviourites if I missed some out please specify.
