Maybe they have told your internet provider of possible illegal activity, which can result in a letter with a formal warning of your internet activity.

What is the context of that statement? Your ISP has been informed of what? Who has informed them?

Haha no it's got nothing to do with illegal downloading or anything.

I just got banned from a forum and the comment was 'ISP informed', I just wondered what it entailed. I expect a letter from my service provider then? What are the horror stories surrounding this? Has anything worse happened?

It probably constitutes a violation of the terms of your contract if you have been using your ISP's network to harass people, for example, but because it's a non-legal request there won't be any ramifications; the most you will get is a warning, and that is unlikely in itself.

Did you post the CP on that forum? Is it anything to do with threat? If so, wait for black men in suits.

Is this serious? Cause in this context, it's kinda funny the way you asked. :')

It means your ISP (internet service provider) has been informed about something you've done. Only you'll know what it is - upgrading your ISP or more likely, downloading some dodgy porn!
