Feeling depressed :(
Hey!
I have just finished my GCSEs and I will be starting my A-levels in September.
However, ever since I completed my GCSEs I have been feeling depressed, I seem to just wake up late afternoon and then watch tv despite getting numerous invitations from friends I'm just not feeling up to seeing them. I was hoping someone could give me advice on how to get out the house and stop feeling like this. -
Re: Feeling depressed :(
Try to get up earlier, set an alarm. Fill your days with small things which you'll feel proud of. Like throwing things out, or tidying things up, do some light reading about your subjects next year (there are 'bridge the gap' books out there). It's probably due to the come down after working hard for your GCSE's, you're also probably genuinely tired after it. It's very common but only you can pull yourself out of the cycle.

Heeey
Firstly - WELL DONE on finishing your GCSE's, i just finishsed my AS levels :P
How do you mean? Like how do you feel like, low..un motivated..irrtiated etc...?
Why don't u go to your doctor? I really suggest this. And he can help you sort out what is happening - there is nothing they haven't heard before!
I still feel like that too, i used to have lots of 'reasons' regarding anxiety, now that those feelings have lessened, i kinda feel 'scoailly deprived' and it is hard to get back into the swing of things! Just start by giving your friends a call and PUSH yourself to do it.. its no good staying at home and thinking about it! This will start off a good conversation ,and hopefully you will feel happy after from talking to them
- do this to get your motivation up about seeing them and then suggest going out... and if they offer say YES straight away otherwise you are just putting the dates forward and i think you know it won't happen - we've all been through that!! :P
Do some exercise daily, this will get your energy up and spirits lifted in the short and long term!
Hope you're okay?
Take care -
Re: Feeling depressed :(You can take it in small steps: first leave the house for a walk typically an hour everyday. Slowly increase the amount of time you spend out, remind yourself what you used to like doing. This can be alone or you can go out with one of your closest friends. Don't force yourself into going anywhere overwhelming or with lots of people, just little things. That will help you remember the feeling of being out and being part of the world again and then you can explore further by accepting friend invitations etc. Just note that the longer you cut yourself off from the outside, the worse you will feel and the scarier/more overwhelming the thought of going back outside and being active will be.(Original post by Anonymous)
