Re: Psychiatric Assessment
What do you mean the "procedure"? The questions?
Basically you sit in a room with a psychiatrist and he asks you questions about how you feel now, how you felt in the past, if you had any difficult experiences, what brings you to him, what's going on in your life etc.
He'll ask about your current symptoms and exactly what they entail - eg. mood disorder, questions about any weird experiences you have, anything you get anxious about, how long this has been going on for.
He'll also be assessing the way you present to him - he'll look at your clothing, your facial expressions, how you speak, if you take your time or rush things, what your concentration is like, stuff like that.
Don't worry about it, psychiatrists are used to people being nervous but just be honest and open and you'll get along fine.
