Try Zapper. It's especially useful for students and they can give you a value for your books in seconds.

You could try Amazon's book trade in service. If it's a textbook which I'm guessing it is, you usually get a decent price for them.(Original post by insignificant)
I study Law so the books generally depreciate in value really quick. Was wondering where is best to sell them, Amazon, Ebay etc?
Just google 'amazon book trade in!' The only downside is that you can only get amazon gift card thingys, so the amount you receive can only be used for purchasing stuff on Amazon which isn't bad if you're alway buying stuff from there.
Hope that helps

Re: Where is best to sell my uni books?I was thinking of doing the same as if I sell the book as new, which it practically is, I could get £7 for it.(Original post by Historiana)
I'm selling mine on Amazon, with some success.

It's probably that cheap because lots of people are selling it. I'd suggest maybe considering posters up about campus about selling books, you're a lot more likely to get a decent price for it and you can sell it as a set of first year books to gullible freshers. -
Re: Where is best to sell my uni books?
I sold loads of mine on amazon, I checked what they were currently going for and put them for 10p cheaper so that mine would be on the top of the list (good for beating competition and you'd only be losing out on a few pence compared to the rest of them), they can be left there for months until someone buys them. I'd recommend putting them up at the beginning of September when people start new modules and get their reading lists.

Re: Where is best to sell my uni books?
Don't have the patience for amazon or any auction sites so I spent a while working my way down all the instant buyback sites and found that this one gave the best prices: http://buyback.abebooks.co.uk/
Made a very tidy sum and had a cheque within 2 weeks. Especially good considering half of them I'd bought second hand for peanuts on amazon in the first place, some good profits to be made.Last edited by EGjeff; 12-07-2012 at 11:19. -
Re: Where is best to sell my uni books?
Amazon and ebay are the easiest but also most expensive as they both charge extortionate fees for the sales -_- your uni should have a buy book scheme though otherwise theres a fair few sites where you can list them just do a google search, other places which you could try selling them are gumtree and craigslist or list them in a local paper/news agents window maybe ?
