Help! How do I get my P45 back!?
Basically, I'm working at Next retail at the moment part-time (paid hourly) and I now have a new job which I start on the 1st of August. I gave my notice in today but when will I get my P45 back? I need on to give to my new employer on the 1st...

Cut-off point (the point in the month from where the work I do after that point goes onto next month's pay) is the 15th. So would that mean I wouldn't get my P45 back until the end of August as I would be working after this month's cut off point? Is there any way of getting it for the 1st of August?

Any help will be hugely appreciated!

Get your P90 and rip it in half.

Just ask your employer, when they can give it back to you. Or tell your new employer that you will give to them in a month. They might put you on emergency tax code but you will be able to get back, most likely in your next pay check, when you give them your p45 with your actual tax code.

You can also fill in a P46 with your new employer if you don't have your P45 before you start work.
