hiya just looking for some advice off people doing the nursing/midwifery degrees. i am starting an access to higher education diploma this September but I'm unsure what choices to pick, i am sticking to science based modules but for anyone who has done access what are the compulsory module options to get onto the nursing degrees? I'm unsure whether i will need to pick psychology? as it's something i do not enjoy studying. I have picked human biology, biological studies, chemistry and health studies; does this seem okay?

Also what are the degrees like (time wise) i have a child so i'm worried about getting him to school and back, obviously i will have to arrange childcare as much as i can but what are your shifts like at placements and what times do your uni days consist of?

Thanks so much in advance xx
Hi, I have just completed my access course and chose science based subjects - human biology, health science and health studies. I would do these kind of subjects if you want to be a child or adult nurse, but if you want to be a mental health nurse then I would reccommend that you do Psychology.
I'm not sure what the degree is like as I've not started yet, but my tutor told me that I won't have as much work as I have done on the access course, it will just be quite abit harder!
    Hope this helps x
