Reading that made me feel sick, I wish I had the stomach for spirits. You probably just have a high tolerance, which is a good thing because you have less of a chance of being a drunken knob when you're out.

    You didn't drink that much.

    Grab youself:

    1 x Bottle of Jager
    1L Energy Drink of Choice
    1x 1/2 Pint Glass

Start with 1/4 Jager, 4/3 Energy drink. Pour again, until you're done. Aim to get through the Jager in around an hour, less if you're in a hurry. That should do you for pre-drinks. Or if you want to impress your lady friends with your great drinks, grab yourself some Raspberry Vodka and Fanta Fruit Twist, drink enough of the fanta to fit the bottle of Vodka in it, and mix that ****er up. Great tasting drink that the girls seem to love, and tends to get you well done for pre-drinks, though don't forget to break the seal before you leave. You might think you'll be fine, but you wont be. Wherever you're going is always 5 minutes too far once you're out of the door.

When I feel that I've bought enough drinks and I am not satisfactorily drunk I will often turn my attention to the hand sanitizers in the toilets . . .

I don't know how alcohol is metabolised but I'm pretty sure people just have different biochemistry with how they react to things? I'm of a similar weight and but I've always been able to put away a lot of alcohol. Like a litre of vodka in a few hours and I'm still standing. But my mum is pretty big and she's on the floor after a couple of barcadis and cokes.

Wouldn't that be bad seeing as I'm 16 :P? A whole bottle of Jager?

had you had a lot to eat previously? did you go to the toilet regularly and pee yourself sober after each shot?

sometimes, when i pace myself i find i don't actually get drunk at all because i'm too grounded to get giddy or whatever and then i can drink loads and it feels like a waste cos i stayed sober...

    weird though.

Ate a bit, not too much but that was at 9:00 during my prom, after that I had nothing

and naah only pee'd twice, after we all finished drinking :P

I don't really think it's an impressive feat to be honest. Fair enough, you may be genetically exposed to being tolerant to alcohol - but no one is immune. Loads of factors can seriously reduce your chance of getting drunk: things you've eaten, energy levels, hydration levels, body mass, mood, temperature.
Also, if you don't drink regularly you may not pick up on feeling "tipsy" in a busy situation as your friends would!

Jagerbombs aren't exactly lethal, so that wouldn't have done anything. Then the 3 shots also wouldn't be enough to do anything. That leaves us with four mixed drinks, three of which being vodka - not mixing alcohol types too much won't make you ask drunk. Perhaps, given that you're a novice drinker, you poured very small ratios of alcohol to soft drink?

You had 8 shots heavily watered down with sugary soft drinks. It's the equivalent of about 4 or 5 pints. If you'd eaten beforehand as other people had said then that is a normal amount to expect to be able to handle. Just congratulate yourself on not being a lightweight and find out where your limits really stand.

I was getting through a straight 375ml bottle of vodka for predrinks at 16. I drink a bit more now, but mix it and actually drink something I enjoy, rather than necking cheap vodka to get drunk. Honestly, you probably wont need the whole bottle of Jager, and no doubt someone will want some anyway. These days I don't know what I drink most of the time. Everyone just brings a bottle of some spirit, or 12 cans or something and you all mix your drinks and noone really cares who is drinking what. My best advice would just be to get yourself a bottle of spirits, 375 or 700ml, whatever you can afford, and drink at a few measures every 10 minutes or so, so thats a few shots every few minutes, but with mixers, until you start to feel tipsy. Try and get a feel for how much you drank, and there's your predrink limit, it may not turn out to be that much. On a small meal and a two hour predrink, a bottle of Jager is fine for me, and I'm no heavyweight, but I'm not a lightweight either.

The time that you take to consume alcohol in a night has a huge bearing on how drunk you can get. If you drink quickly you will get drunk quickly. If you drink slowly and pace yourself you can drink much more.

Pure unit of rum / pure unit of whisky is not a real drink? Wth constitutes a real drink in that case then? Antifreeze?
I'm referring to the mixers, that's all there is in the OP, mixers with the odd flavoured shot. It really isn't much, maybe the usual for pre-drinks at worst. Maybe if the shots were increased thrice and add in a few beers, then you're on to something.

On the other hand, he is young and not much of a drinker and it's prom night. I'm not denying how he felt.

    Just saying.

8 drinks isn't really that much. Between 6 and 8 is generally the minimum I require before I can get on the dancefloor :danceboy:
At 16 I guess you would expect your tolerance to be a bit lower, but then you do find that some nights you get drunk really easily and other nights you can be downing the doubles all night and just not get there. It really varies a lot.

It's only 8 units of alcohol. The first time i went out i had 21 units in 5 hours and felt fine.

I'm not trolling or showing off even if you think I am, and I'm using a throw away account (as you can see by my name) for this question incase some people think I am.

I'm, 16, (yes I know I'm underage no point telling me)

and I've only drank twice in my life, one time was just 3 bottles of smirnoff ice which is literally nothing.

Then second time was my prom night, and this is what I drank in this order and approx times:

    2:00- Vodka and Orange Juice
    2:15- Jagerbomb
    2:40- Shot of blueberry vodka
    3:00-Shot of Bacardi
    3:15- JD and Coke
    3:30- Shot of JD
4:00- Russian Vodka with little amount of coke
    4:15- Russian vodka with coke

now at around 3:00 most of my mates were either pissed or sleeping (not sure why :P) And me and my other friend who was a bit pissed at around 3 and 2 others who didn't drink much, was the only one awake with me afterwards

however out of everyone I was the one that got the least drunk, the max it was, was me getting a bit light headed.

I was wondering why? I've only ever drank smirnoff ice once which was 3 bottles, and i'm not very large, i weigh 125lb (57kg) and I am around 5"9 (175cm)

Is there any reason why I wouldn't feel much after all this?

My dad was quite a heavy drinker before and a bit after I was born.

I know what I had probably isn't A LOT but it thought it would be for me, as it was the first time actually doing something like that

NOTE: I'm not making it up even if you think so, those who don't please answer thanks
Mildly jealous. I hardly drink because (thanks nature!) I hardly like anything alcoholic, the only thing I've found which I like is pear cider, hardly the manliest of drinks!

In fairness I've never got drunk/had more than one drink at a time, but I'm probably lightweight :P

Just wondering, does anybody actually like drinking vodka without anything with it? because I tried and couldn't stand it without coke
