Langstone Flats 2012Anyone else staying in Langstone flats?
I'm in, E/02/6.
Although.. I've just been given a relatively high paying job and I'll probably be deferring another year.Last edited by xXedixXx; 12-07-2012 at 14:46. -

Re: Langstone Flats 2012How can we possibly answer that question?(Original post by Lil_Snowy)
How are the langstone flats? Im curious to find out whether its good or not....everyone seems to talk about the guildhall halls but not much about langstone. -
Re: Langstone Flats 2012
Maybe one of the previous students can give their opinions of their experience there...a lot of information was given for the guildhall halls but I never really found anything mentioning about langstone. It wasn't my first choice but I've been located to the langstone flats. Just wondering what to expect from it

Re: Langstone Flats 2012
Langstone Village is cool. A lot of people hate it on because it's like a 20 minute ride from the uni. Although it's a bit annoying in the mornings to have to get up that much earlier, it's not the end of the world. Taxi to Guildhall is only about a fiver each way which is nothing if you split it between a full taxi.
The flats themselves are actually really nice. The rooms are a decent size and the en suite in a luxury that I missed when I returned home. You'll have a desk, a few cupboards and probably a closet. The room sizes and contents to vary a bit. Last year I had a room almost twice the size of everyone else in my flat because there was a room with a balcony above me. It's a bit of a lottery really.
You will share your living room/kitchen with the other 7 of your flat mates. You get a ****ty oven (works eventually though), a couple of fridges and loads of cupboards which is pretty standard. Living room consists of a couple of sofas and a big table.
Each block has like 100 students in and the village probably near on 1000 or something in total. Make friends with people from other flats too and it's a really nice place to live.
I had a great time there and would recommend it to anyone.
If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. -
Re: Langstone Flats 2012
Wow thank you so much! This was very useful information! Yeah you're right, because it's so far away from the university, I don't really think it was most people's first choice but after hearing your description I can say I feel relieved. Haha I don't think I'm as lucky as you to get a big room
