    Is this a big deal?
Today as I was trying to park (and failing) my car just touched one of the cars. I saw that it left some colour from my car, no bumps or scratches. My own car has a tiny bit of their colour on it where the cars touched. I let the owner know that they can contact me if it doesn't just clean off - it is something that should just wipe off? It wasn't a scratch or anything like that.

It depends, I doubt it will come to anything bad, don't worry.

You definitely did the right thing by letting them know -- something which takes courage
Probably everything will be fine, and car dealers often give a small pot of paint with the car, to cover up such things.

It depends a lot on the attitude of the other car's owner. But it would probably just polish off with some T-Cut.

Well it happened in the car park of the school I recently secured a job at. Ages ago I once opened my car door and the wind blew so my door hit the car next to me - same paint situation, and the person told me it just wiped off.

It's nice that you let them know, but it's also risky (not saying you shouldn't have) but did you take pictures? If they are a bit of an ******** they could blame any other scratch/marking on you (even if it had nothing to do with you)

No I didn't - I don't see how they can be proof because if I damaged other parts I could just not take pictures of it?

Yeah but if you took pictures of the position of your car and the position the other car was in, it'd help your case IF the other guy decided to be a bastard about it.

The position I was in when I touched the other car meant I couldn't get out as I was basically turning right to park between 2 cars and the angle was just all wrong :/

Yes and you should create another thread asking the exact same thing....oh wait.

Surely you could tell that you were going to scrape the side of the car when it kept getting closer and closer? Women drivers

The other thread isn't asking the exact same thing. And I admit, my parking is not good at all.
