    Northumbria accommodation 2012
Well, a lot of universities have these threads now, including Newcastle University. I'm guessing that a few of us have already met conditions (taken a gap year, did EB or IB or Abitur; something other than A-levels) and received accommodation?
If not, then I think I am right in thinking that the rest will be getting accommodation very, very soon!
    So, um, my info:

Course: English Literature and Creative Writing
    Offer: Unconditional
    Conditions: None
    Accommodation: Quay Point

    I'm so excited! :dancing:

    Highjacking our freshers?! cheater!

    Course: Law
    Offer: Conditional
Conditions: ABB, not going to get that but at the open day they said they often lower the offer on results day and accept results as low as BBC, thats what im relying on! will be gutted if i dont get in.

Accommodation: Was hoping for marleen court but starting to think it might be full of mature students, might actually change my preferences so my first and second choices are halls closer to the east campus...hopefully i might meet more people on my course or at least my campus!

Conditions: Just need to pass my access course which I already know I have
    Accommodation: Private renting in Heaton

Hello, Im starting northumbria university in September, and would just like to request some information on the accomodation. Manor bank does not specifically state the price of the rent p/w. Does anyone know what it is? I'm after a studio room. Also, are you allowed guests? And when will I hear if I've got a place or not?

    Hi becky3579,

My names Frankie, I work for UNITE (we run and manage Manor Bank).

I’m here to give help and advice to TSR users about UNITE accommodation.

I noticed your post and thought a response might be helpful.

A classic studio at Manor Bank is £145 per week, and a premium range 1 studio is £155 per week.

In regards to guests - we believe in independent living, it’s your home so you can have guests staying over. We do not allow sub-letting (where you rent your room out to another person) but we’re not going to stop you from having a friend over from time to time.

I hope this helps, if you need any more info on Manor Bank just drop me a message

    Frankie

I think you get a week to pay your deposit. If you have problems paying, you could always e-mail/phone them to explain your situation?

If your six friends only come round occasionally then you'll be fine but there isn't that much room in halls so if you have them round all the time then your flatmates will most likely get annoyed with you because they're paying to use the space and expect to be able to. If you want them round regularly then I'd suggest changing your accommodation preferences to a studio where you get your own kitchen too and have no flatmates to annoy, though this is more expensive. Otherwise go round to their houses instead or if they are also moving into halls then ask to be put together or go for private accommodation together.

There is no rule against alcohol, you just walk in with it, it's very easy.

Hey, I'm in Camden Court. Which flat are you in? I'm in 705 (7th floor, flat 5).
