Hi,

I have set up my macbook air to a tv via a mini display to hdmi adapter and hdmi cable. It works fine with both sound and audio.

However, I'm having trouble when i try playing a film thats on my MBA. I start playing the film in either VLC player or quick time player, and put the film in fullscreen and it will play fine for the first few minutes. then the film will become stretched vertically on my tv and the letterbox is gone. It seems as though the aspect ratio/resolution of the tv (external display) has changed.

I have tried both the mirror and non mirror for the display options. the first causes pillarbox effect, making the movie noticeably smaller, and the latter causes the problem mentioned above.

PLease help, i need an alternative to ps3 due to damn cinivia . Rep will be given.
