Anyone taken a third year, which uni did you go to?
Hi,
I'm worried may have missed my grades, and I'd probably take a third year if I have as I was going so well until the final exams, where I believe I have somehow managed to flop three out of three. If this were the case, I'd probably be able to get AAB with 3 years and BBB after 2 years. Would most unis up the standard offer for me? And would anyone who took three years without extenuating circumstances be able to tell me whether they had offers increased above standard offer and from which unis?
I know it can also depend on subject but I'm interested to know just for indication. Thanks.
Edit: sorry about poor grammar/spelling I'm awful on iPods.Last edited by ilovecatsforlife; 12-07-2012 at 19:51. -

Don't worry.
A couple of uni's are a bit annoying and won't take re-takes etc but in general they don't care as long as you eventually get the grades.
I did three years of A Levels, taking this:
Biology, Maths, Sociology.
Biology (A2), Maths (AS), Chemistry (AS)
Maths (A2), Chemistry (A2)
In my final year I took my biology exams AGAIN, I took all biology ones twice and my AS maths thrice and ended up with:
Biology - 4 UMS marks into a B
Chemistry - 9 UMS marks into a B
Mathematics - 2 UMS marks from an A
I did reasonably i the end and got into uni on the offer of BBB. -

I took 3 years to complete my A-Levels simply due to messing up my exams first time round and got offers from Leeds, Birmingham and UEA- Leeds was the standard offer and Birmingham and UEA gave me the lower offer in their range (e.g. UEA was ABB-BBB and they offered me BBB). Other people I know who retook got offers from Leeds, Bristol, Sussex, Keele, Birmingham, Lancaster and Southampton.Last edited by jelly1000; 12-07-2012 at 23:53.
